- Call airport to check if flight is on time before coming in. Parking is free for only 15 minutes. If you want to drop your car a the airport for a day or two, use a long-stay parking.Upvoted Mar 17

- Anita OzvaldApril 6, 2014Beware of agressive taxi drivers, try to organize your trip to the city in advance. If there's nobody to help you with this, on komandir.kz you can order a taxi online in advance, and in English.
- Be careful with very aggressive taxi drivers, you can always download yandex taxi and enjoy your drive safely and at reasonable price. It accepts cash and you can connect your credit card in app
- You can get good coffee and even soy milk at Costa in the 2nd floor before checking counters.
- Book taxi inside just near the gate, official taxi Komandir, Almaty, City. If you book outside you will be overcharged. Normal rate 2000 T for 15 kms, every 1 km / 100 T. Have a nice journey
- Do not park just (on the road) outside the airport as you will be trolled away. Park at the parking lot just close and you will find ample space- do not forget to pay for it . Have a nice time
- Dustin LeeDecember 1, 2019Bus 92 takes you to city center in around 45-65 mins, depending on traffic, for only 150 tenges (80 with card). Yandex is a great app to call a taxi instead of dealing with the mob. Expensive inside

- You can park your car for free just near the airport (on the right side when coming out from the airport near new hotel which seems to be not opened)
- Cenker KöseDecember 28, 2015Small but nice and well organized airport. Agree on the price before get in taxi (around 2500 tenge).
- The best place for coffee and snacks inside of the airport is a small coffeeshop on the second floor (right side opposite pharmacy).
- Ridiculous prices on basic stuff like water. 500 tenge (3$) when outside it costs only 80. Look for a small duty free shop close to the elevator- they sell all kind of soft drinks for 200 tenge only.
- For the domestic flights you can go inside new part of passenger terminal and found a lot of free space, good coffee and better view on airplanes

- Suhaila LailaSeptember 30, 2019No prayer room for muslimah. They only have small corner that fit 1 person to perform Solah. Ablution can be made in toilet but a bit difficult and quite unclean.
- Dear guests of Almaty! FYI: average rate for a cab ride from the airport to the city is around 25$ = 2500kzt. Ask about rate before getting in a cab.

- All tourists that come to Kazakhstan, make sure you made registration in first 5 days! Otherwise you'll not be able to leave the country!
- It’s okay except taxi. Do not even think to use ‘official’ or ‘cheap’ taxi. Use Uber or Yandex taxi.
- The only problem is there is no CIP lounge for the business class or frequent flyer passangers... Free wi-fi is provided.
- Small airport. Long line at passport control. Taxi to Almaty should cost 10$. If you pay more - you are "lucky"😄
- Prices at the departures hall coffee shops are extremely high (comparing to the average Almaty prices)
- Waiting in the international departure terminal, beer is much cheaper through duty free (they don't lock your purchases away from you) than at the EXPENSIVE bar 2000T/piva

- Gulzat IceFebruary 12, 2013Dial +77272454747 "ekonom taxi" take will cost u 1300-1400 tg to the city. Drivers may sometimes be unfriendly. but. hey, u dont have to speak to them much:-) just get home fast and cheap:-)
- Soft drinks cost 700 instead of 150 , buy them from small shops from ground floor , near international arrival door , only 200 tenge
- Avoid taxi scam. Use uberX 2500kzt+ or install app Rutaxi pricing 1000kzt to 1500kzt to the central part of city. The only means of public transport is bus 92 (check app citybus for route) 80kzt.
- Very strange, but there are no free wifi at the airport. It is very uncomfortable. Free wifi only for Megafon users.
- Dmitry AvdeychukJanuary 8, 2014Take a pen when you fly to Almaty to fill a migrational card out as the customs staff don't have any. You will be pushed back from customs' kiosk to grab it from someone. No way to buy it in there!

- Check out Balbala.kz toys on the second floor. Good souvenirs that sing in Kazakh language :)
- Use an Uber to get into the city, it's 2000 flat rate, 3000 for Uber select.
- Dear foreign guests,The taxi to city costs around 2000-3000 Kazakh Tenges which is approximately 15-20 USD. Do not over pay
- Just a quick note to those traveling within the country: they don't really care about the liquids in your hand baggage. International guidelines for 150ml limit allowance are not followed.
