The mouth of the "New River" was once located here. This is also the site of the 3rd "Fort" Lauderdale built during the 2nd Seminole War. The first 2 (located west of here) were destroyed in the war.

Once you get past the motel you have to walk through, the eggs benedict for breakfast are the best. Nothing beats the view.

The service here is laughable. Food is ok. Great spot to watch leathery drunken cougars make fools of themselves.

Cheap hotel, pricy drinks, average food. Had to wait fooooorever for my burnt Burger that was ordered medium well. definitely not satisfied with this experience.
