The Crocker Art Museum was one of the first art museums in the U.S. and is now one of the leading art institutions in California.
I used to go here all the time before they expanded it but I've only been there once since and it's so huge now that I'll definitely have to go back to see it all!!
Check out the David Ligare exhibit, "California Classicist"... stunning representation of natural light
History food paintings art education classes.
I was really impressed with the Crocker. It can really hold it's own with places like the MOMA and DeYoung. Huge! Great collection of California art. Will be returning.
Everything is good here! Try the ArtMix!
ArtMix! CrockerCon comics show!
The museum cafe is great, and the portions are large. Lots of seasonal offerings.
If there is not a scheduled guided tour, grab a docent and ask for it. They are volunteers and more than happy to show you around.
Great place to take the family to! :)
I could go here a million times in a row and state at each piece of art for hours.
This is the premier art museum in Sacramento. With exhibits that continually change, the selection of art never gets old.
Great museum. A lot of artwork here. Great selection of international art to. Its also a learning experience.
Through Labor Day 2012, active duty military + one guest get in free! Awesome museum.
If you plan on bringing a backpack make sure to bring 50 cents to store it in a locker. No backpacks allowed in the museum.
Definitely need more than an hour to see even one floor of one building
Actually, this is a great place for a business meeting!
Love it here! Beautiful!
"Portrait of My Father" is absolutely astonishing
just a note that the museum is free to the public every third sunday of the month, not every sunday.
The newly expanded Crocker has the best collection of modern and contemporary ceramics I've seen anywhere -- check out the collection.
Try the squash soup! It is delicious!
Check out the Thiebaud pieces while they're here!
Check out "Portrait of My Father" on 3rd Floor
