Suave and sophisticated atmosphere. Amazing menu. The pork shoulder with bacon fried rice manages to be even more perfect than it sounds.

This Wicker Park restaurant is like the nicest amalgam of all the hippest restaurants you’ve ever been to: light bulbs hung on sailing rope and wood-and-brick everything in an airy, well-lit space.

I loved the bresaola-style chicken slices, piled high over cubes of pickle tots (the brothers' terrific take on tater tots) and a beet-tinged, ranch-dressing-meets-borscht yogurt sauce.

As long as you understand the portions are conservative and slightly overpriced, the food will be excellent. It's like a gastropub is trying to be a high end bar and the staff is annoyed by it. Enjoy!

The $48 prix-fine menu is the way to go. They say it's 1/2 portions but it's probably 2/3. Lots of food for a good price. The pork ribs and squid were standouts.

The white cheddar on the chicharrones is distinct but lightly applied, so that you get the shot of salt and funk, but without all that excess gunk left on your fingers.
