Best Fried Chicken: Willie Mae's Scotch House. It's right around the corner of from Dooky Chase. They're famous for their fried chicken. It started off as a Scotch house.

You must try the Train Wreck Po Boy or the Jambalaya bowl. Be sure to get a loaf of cornbread! The Train Wreck Po Boy is an excellent hangover cure.
Can't go wrong with the fried shrimp or fish. The gumbo is the best I've had outside of the South.

The new Chicken Gumbo tastes like Manila's Chicken Caldereta on steroids. It's super spicy in a good way.
Try the gumbo. Unique and I quite liked it. Mix the rice in! Also the deli-bar is a great way to fill up on salad, soup and protein.

The Jerk Chicken Sandwich looks absolutely sumptuous, as shown in Eat St. The Jerk sauce is spiced with habanero. Do take note that there is cheese in the sandwich for those who don't take dairy.
This location is much bigger than the one on E Capitol Expressway, so you DON'T need to come 30mins-1hr before they open to wait in line.
