The Driving Under the Influence Program (Duip)
The maac project dui program provides individual counseling, group counseling & educational services to persons 18 years of age & older, who have been charged w/ driving under the influence & referred by the court, probation, or the department of motor vehicles as required by title 9 of the california code of regulations. The maac project dui program is licensed by the state of california department of alcohol & drug programs contracted by the county of san diego. Counseling & education classes are provided in english & spanish. It is important to realize that participants in the dui program come from every walk of life. They do not attend the facility on a daily basis. The “average” participant attends the program one time a week for a group & education class. The individual face to face sessions are usually scheduled on the same day as another activity. Some participants only attend the facility once a month for a period of six months.
Recovery Homes
Maac project has developed specific treatment services to address the high rate of alcohol & drug abuse. To help increase the probability for a person to achieve long term sobriety, great effort is made to provide services from a cultural context. Two specific social model programs demonstrating maac's mission in action are casa de milagros & nosotros; two bilingual, state licensed, long-term residential recovery homes for individuals w/ alcohol & drug abuse problems. Both programs are contracted w/ san diego alcohol & drug services & mental health systems, inc. referrals are accepted from various programs such as, parolee partnerships program (p3) , sasca & sb 1453.
Nosotros
Nosotros is a 15 bed, structurally balanced, long-term residential facility. It provides a structured, alcohol/drug-free environment to assist adult males in their recovery process. Nosotros offers individual & group counseling, alcohol/drug education, aa/na meetings, parenting & other services to aid residents in attaining sobriety & self-sufficiency. Residents work w/ certified addiction specialists & job placement counselors who prepare them to re-enter mainstream society.
Healthy Homes
The maac project healthy homes department has been providing weatherization services to low-income families in san diego county since 1978. the goal of the weatherization program is to reduce heating & cooling cost for low income families by improving the energy efficiency of their homes & ensuring their health & safety. Maac project's healthy homes department works in partnership w/ san diego gas & electric energy team, richard heath & associates, the department of community services & development (low income home energy assistance program & department of energy program) , san diego housing commission & san diego healthy homes collaborative.
Casa De Milagros
Casa de milagros is an 18 bed, long-term residential facility. It provides a structured, alcohol/drug-free environment to assist adult females in their recovery process. Casa offers individual & group counseling, alcohol/drug education, aa/na meetings, parenting & other services to aid residents in attaining sobriety & self-sufficiency. Reunification w/ children is an important aspect of the cdm program.
