Food alley in the center of Kyoto. Tons of restaurants and bars. Most of them offer English menus. It's a bit narrow and crowded at peak hours. Restaurants at the riverside have outside dinning.
Great place to have Japanese BBQ on your personal Charcoal Grill. Fixed prices menu's are available. This place might be a bit hard to find as they are located on the 2nd floor. Look for the sign.
The 8 course king crab keiseki dinner is very extensive which contains more then 6 different preparations of crab. The service is friendly although the courses were served quite quickly. Food about 8+
Great selection of Unagi set menu's with different choices of sides dishes. For the authentic experience select the Hitsumabushi menu which contains three different ways to enjoy your Unagi.
A great opportunity to enjoy authentic Shabu Shabu. The broth in the hotpot get tastier with time. The menu's offers a variety of vegetables and meats (which is soft and melts in your mouth). Yum!
Good place to have a bowl of ramen after hiking the Fushimi Inari-taisha. The cha su is soft with good umami. Try the ice cold ramen special during the summer months. Fresh and highly recommended.
The yellow curry was good and the flavour got fuller near the end. The service is ok, could be a bit more friendlier. Slightly above average.
