I would highly suggest the Ruben with sweet potato fries! One of the best I have ever had!! Pauly is a great friendly guy behind the bar, and the owner Bill knows how to treat his customers!

Good selection of beers on tap. Tasty pub food. Try the hush puppies. And get there early for lunch or you will have a long wait.

I don't know what's good here on a day to day, but I know what ain't: breakfast. It's cheap & filling (& simplistic), but if you're looking for satisfying and tasty, try somewhere else. Also cash only

Good ole fashioned pub goodness served in a brick-walled space. It sits on the site of an “Old Ship” wreck from the mid-1800s. Teri says to get some chips with cheese and sausage or peppercorn gravy.

Cool old SF bar that actually has a ship's hull in the sub-basement. Ask one of the staff about the history (if it's not too busy!).

Always a good spot for happy hour. Lunch menu is awesome. Try the kale caesar, Diablo burger, and anything with fried chicken.

A pub that's always packed for weekday happy hours. It's got a nice vibe but is often too loud for comfortable conversation. Get the fries.

This spot was final resting space for the Arkansas, a ship that wrecked on Alcatraz, was bought for a song, and got towed to what would later become the corner of Battery and Pacific Streets.

Anchor Steam on tap always super fresh. The BOW (burger of the week) is chef Jake's flavors playground... Highly recommended.

Takeout breakfast is served from 8am on weekdays, reasonably priced. The guys behind it are awesome!

Supposedly one of the oldest bar in San Fran. It was made from a ship from over 100 years ago. Had no nostalgia at all. Felt like a regular bar. With ok food and some local ale.
