don't take a taxi next to the stationathey'll rip you off! take the official citytaxi with AAA sign or call 14014 for it. keep in mind, the ride to city center should not be more than 200 czk (7-10€)
DO NOT change your money here. The exchange places takes 20% comission (=rip off!!!). You can change 0% comission within 5min walk, in Jindrisská street
Exchange in the station charges ridiculously a 20% commission, and many scalpers are around. Go into the city, there are exchange stores at almost every corner with 0 commission and much better rates.
The largest Czech railway station. Newly renovated. You will find a supermarket, bookstores, fast food, cosmetics and a nice cafe. Direct access to subway. The taxi stand and bus to the airport.
Beware the taxi stand! They pretend that your destination is in the furthest zone, to charge you more. If you are staying is zones 1 & 2 (most everybody), then your ride is 28 CHK or just a bit more.
The rail station here has just about enough to get you ready for your journey ahead (or to get a start on exploring Prague). Great hub for exploring Europe!
There's free Wi-Fi. You can watch movies in 5D. There's all the kind of stores (supermarket, coffee, bio store, library, ...). You can also take visit the old train station if you have enough time.
Regiojet have affordable tickets and the economic seats are really comfortable: a bottle of water is included. Café and tea also. Seats have screens and USB ports. The trains are clean and modern.
After reconstruction very nice rail-station with direct access to subway. If you have time, try to visit also old building, it is really nice piece of architecture...
Regiojet have affordable tickets and the economic seats are comfortable: bottle of water is included. Café & tea also. Seats have screens & USB port. The trains are clean and modern. But WIFI is bad!
Taxis ☹️ Paid 700 czk from the airport to railway station. When going back I was asked 1800 czk. When refused we settled in 1000 czk. No time to call a taxi or find another place.
The lockers are a great deal - one locker fit large bags for four of us while we explored the city. It was 60 CZK (~$3 USD) for the day, and the area seemed very secure.
Nice shops in the main hall, new luggage storages next to entrance for good price, and you can pay with card. Ticket sales didn’t use service numbers, which was a little confusing for a scandinavian.
Come early enough to grab groceries from Billa, a book from Luxor plus pastries, chocolatespralines and more for the journey and gifts for yourself and loved ones.
Six lanes of traffic pass directly in front of the original station building, along with a car park on top of the 1970s extension, trying to see the fascia of the original building is challenging.
See the historical railway station at the ground level. Quite nice. Public transport tickets are at -2 level as well the touristoffice. They don't take cards. Cash only.
If you have tickets, go to the platforms level and check the board for your train. It won’t show up on the screen until 15 minutes before the train leaves.
The local train company staff is very rude and wouldn't help. So come early if you need to print tickets and etc. also best if u print ur ticket esp.if you are traveling with an inter.railway comp.
Don’t take taxi without ordering, it’s overpriced. Preferable use uber App, or the subway - one stop to Florenc where you can go to yellow line, or also to Musem, where you can take green.
Best exchange rate for € or $ I found was at UniCredit Bank at lower level. Avoid currency exchange kiosks. And like everyone mentioned, taxis are sleazy and will overcharge.
if u have to get the airport express (AE) take the elevator and exit through the old station. The stop is on your left. The drivers accept only kc (50) and are also pretty unpleasant.
Dnešní železniční stanice Praha hlavní nádraží byla uvedena do provozu v roce 1871 jako Nádraží císaře Františka Josefa na Dráze císaře Františka Josefa z Vídně přes České Budějovice a Benešov do Prahy. V letech 1919-40 a 1945-53 nesla název Praha Wilsonovo nádraží.
