Heather JNovember 4, 2013Don't go through TSA and wander into your gate until you need to if you want something to do or eat. There isn't a lot to do (we were in the screening that went to gate 38).

None of the terminals are connected beyond security (B/C is, but you have to walk down stairs and take a shuttle). So leave plenty of connection time.

Catie RuschFebruary 20, 2013Give yourself ample time to make connections- if your connection flight is in a different terminal you have to go through security to get to it.
If you arrive early for your flight, eat & drink before you go through security. Restaurant options after security aren't nearly as good.

William TollMay 10, 2013As usual bad design is evident everywhere. With most Americans traveling with giant cabin baggage why is the entry to the men's room a mini-maze that going in and going out traffic can't pass?
This was the most confusing, nonsensical airport that I've flown from. Who's bright idea was it to crowd all the passengers on the plane on a much smaller shuttle? I'll never fly to/from there again

New security checkpoint in terminal A! Not bad, and quick even during rush hour on a Friday!
I love this airport...simple, clean & always a quick and painless process.

Mayorga is in the Delta terminal B and has an espresso bar with great lattes.

Delta frequent flyers can get TSA-pre. Fast security without emptying your bags or taking off your shoes.
There are new security procedures due to renovations. There is one security checkpoint for all gates now!
I love this airport. It's easy to navigate and metro accessible
Nadia ChilmonikMarch 7, 2015There is no good breakfast choice especially when lines are long. Either eat breakfast first or go for the cheap McDonald's breakfast. At least they aren't stealing your money lol
Joel ReedJanuary 20, 2015Usually long lines, but outside security they have a few decent shops and eateries to kill some time.
This is the best city airport to fly in and out esp compared to Dulles or BWI. Security lines are minimal.
When you're done there, check out Gravelly Point Park and watch the planes take off Wayne's World style:)
Paige PenningtonMay 16, 2012Never been threw security so fast, I walked right threw! Any other airport you usually have to wait in line.
The lady who said this is an international airport is wrong. It is a domestic airport with no customs or immigration facilities. The only international flights are a few to Canada & the Caribbean.
Call it what you want, but this airport will always be known as Washington National. 😬

If you have time, check out the original gates, located between Terminals A and B. Ah, what travel was like before security!
If you're riding metro from DC and flying US Airways sit in the rear of the train to be closest to the exit near US terminal. All other airlines towards the front
Lauren GrayAugust 11, 2014Eat before you go to this airport, not a lot of good food here at all. JetBlue area was nice though!
There is a Dunks by Gate 40. The line is extremely long, get there early.
Delta airlines makes you feel like a serf on the Titanic w/all their prioritizing of "sky elite" members. Just wait until 12 mins b4 takeoff to board your flight & you won't feel so abused.
This airport is a breeze. Despite BWI perhaps having cheaper fares, this airport makes up for it in saved time.
- Take a second to check out the nice architecture in some of the terminals.
