Celebrating over 20 years as one of Atlanta's favorite restaurants, South City Kitchen Midtown is a true classic specializes in contemporary Southern cuisine.
The best service ever. My husband was not thrilled with the waitress's recommendation and she brought him his second choice entree! Fried Green tomatoes were awesome as well as the shrimp n grits!
You can't go wrong with anything on the menu in this piece! Chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and the crab cakes -- it's all good! The speciality drinks are the bomb as well! Nice spot!
By far the best chicken and waffles in the city. The chicken is perfectly fried and seasoned and the waffle is heavenly. They can both stand on their own, but together...pure food magic.

Fun fact: I once sat and ate with a famous Chicago Bulls player here and didn't even realize what a big shot he is until I left. We both got the buttermilk fried chicken!
This isn't just a fried chicken joint - it's Southern food done proper. The staff has an intimate knowledge of gluten free preparation and offers a separate menu of rotating selections. Yum!
Fantastic experience tonight - every dish and drink delicious, gracious, not too cloying service. I rec the smoked pork chopped, fried chicken, trout, pineapple upside down cake.
Food was mediocre at best. Had shrimp and grits. It was OK. But at $40 per plate, I expect my food to be significantly more than OK. Apple cobbler was little more than apple pie filling in a bowl.
The pan roasted duck breast with red quinoa, Tuscan kale, and blood orange jus was amazing. If you have never tried duck, try this!
Areas of the restaurant are a little dark if you are one of those people who prefer to see what you are eating, but don't worry, they provide pen lights!
For brunch, we love the cheddar scrambled eggs, stone-ground grits, and applewood smoked bacon and for dinner, the buttermilk fried chicken is where it's at.
Shrimp and grits were really good. Would recommend brunch here and taking a 1st or 2nd look at the drink menu. Really great drinks to pair with your meal.
Holy Cow, your Grandma would slap the cook the food is so good. Okra, fried chicken, butter peas, mashed potatoes, gravy...and Sweet Tea. A must-eat Southern Treat.
The fried chicken was great, but the star was the light as air, but not like whipped cream Banana Pudding and the peachy Back Porch whiskey concoction. Loved it!
The trending taste this week is the classic Southern favorite, fried green tomatoes. What better way to experience this taste than with some goat cheese at one of your favorites, South City Kitchen.
Come hungry and ready to share. Things you need to eat: fried green tomatoes, apple butter, fried chicken n' waffles and the BLT. Hot damn delicious!
Some of the best southern-inspired fried chicken on the planet. Pork belly and fried green tomatoes are superb starters. Great service all around.
Try the Chicken & Waffle offered during Sunday Brunch. Autumn is a great server! Ask for her section. Grits & Fried Green Tomatoes were good too.
Celebrating 20 years as one of Atlanta's favorite restaurants, South City Kitchen Midtown specializes in contemporary Southern cuisine with a sophisticated twist.
Fabulous duck!! Unbelievable halibut. Awesome buttery filet. Simple but perfect flat iron steak. Great cocktails. Better than Gun Show.
Crave from the Grave: Fried green tomatoes, buttermilk fried chicken, and some banana pudding for dessert makes this ol Southern spirit feel right at home.
Fried green tomatoes and fried chicken are must orders. Get a back porch bourbon and georgia peach cocktail to wash it all down
Do not miss a chance at the fried chicken. Oh. My. God. Also, the cornbread with fresh butter is EVERYTHING. Leave your diet at the door and indulge a little; it's worth it!
Great food. The chicken & waffle is yummy. Crispy chicken that isn't greasy at all. Grits & lemonade are also good.
Dine at South City Kitchen, a highly acclaimed Atlanta staple and celeb favorite! Here you’ll taste reinvented Southern favorites.
Try the Potato Dumplings - With eggplant, mushrooms and truffle essence, it's some of the best gnocchi I've eaten
Southern food with a twist. Try the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese and, of course, the buttermilk fried chicken!
Great service! They proactively split the portions in two if they can tell you intend to share. Love that!
First-timers shouldn't miss the cocktails, fried green tomatoes, pork belly appetizer, and desserts. #amazeballs
Another great find on our visit to ATL. The food was great and the staff was friendly. Totally family friendly environment.
The Chase, Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Pecan Pie equals award-winning combo.
Be sure to hop over to Flip Flops for a drink to wash down your meal. Wednesdays are particularly good!
The braised beef was so tender and delicious! The ham and cheese appetizer was out of this world!
The must haves: she crab soup, fried green tomatoes, crab hash & the crab cake sandwich. Tasty!
Can't beat the fried chicken and waffle. And the fried green tomatoes are the best I have ever eaten.
Chicken livers starter amazing, but VERY rich so choose an entree that won't be overpowered
My favorite resturant in Atlanta. The chicken and dumplings are awsome! Southern cooking at it's best.
Great food and atmosphere here. Eat upstairs, if you can; More private and more quiet.
Chicken and waffles were so good...no need to get them anywhere else in this city
The pork belly, with kimchi collard greens is amazing!
Their gourmet version of an egg mcmuffin blew my mind. The grits are incredible too.
Amazing meal! Try the lobster mac and cheese! Super rich but to die for!
Great atmosphere, service and food! The shrimp amazing!!
Loved everything from the Ceasar Salad with fried grit croutons to the pulled o
