- Mike WinstonSeptember 2, 2014All of the food was tasty and competently made, just a bit simple for me. If that's what you like get the chorizo & egg pizza or green pea fritters and read all about my visit on WinstonWanders below! Read more
- Sarah TrottApril 28, 2017Everyone loves the chicken and waffles but I'd go to Little Skillet for that dish since it is so much better there. Try the eggs and hash instead! The fresh juices and pimms cup are also nice
- One of the few consistently great sit-down restos in the Castro if you want upscale casual. Can’t go wrong with the dumplings, mussels (ask for extra bread), roasted summer corn pizza, & the spaghetti
- The padron peppers are awesome, but one in thirty-five is unbelievably spicy. So be careful as you toss the dice and live dangerously. If you get burned, ask for some milk, it helps.
- Luis OlveraFebruary 2, 2016Went here for the Sunday brunch and it was nice. I had the chilaquiles, which are very dry in my opinion (needs more "liquid" salsa) but the michelada and the pizza were outstanding. Their back patio!
- Fran SuAugust 12, 2018Good location, interesting semi outdoor space. Scallops with corn sauce and chow chow were great. Spaghetti is so so, pizza is a little better than spaghetti, can’t compare to good pizza in New York.
- The Lamb Merquez is a very tasty and well proportioned dish with a lot of variety- Eggplant, Arugula, Beans, Quinoa. A great little dinner. And the bar service is friendly and efficient :-)
- BommySeptember 19, 2014Secret menu doc's style burger is mind-blowing good. Burger is topped with chicken liver pate and caramelized onions. Wow.
- Great brunch and dinner spot. Patio is the place to be. Get the Joe's and the Dynamo Donuts.
- Eddy ChenOctober 25, 2014Can't go wrong with the chicken liver pate. Great taste and big portions at a very reasonable price. Definitely should be part of any meal at Starbelly!
- Adena BrenowitzJuly 25, 2018Grits sticks with dill sauce, white bean purée, panzanella salad were all good! Mushroom pizza was tasty and Corn pizza needed more of a sauce on top to cut the sweetness of the corn.
- Get the fried chicken po’boy during weekend brunch. Also, you can order a bottle of champagne and a glass of juice for DIY mimosas.
- Might be one of my favorite spots in the Castro. Love the back patio area, too. I dream about their brussels sprouts, and beets. Order a few small plates then share their mushroom pizza. Yum!
- Angel FuSeptember 8, 2015Came here during lunch hour on a Friday, buy we didn't have to wait. I got the Loco Moco and it tasted amazing. Definitely would love to come back for the Pate and the squash pizza.
- Ashley BowlesOctober 18, 2016Love this place for brunch or dinner. The chicken and waffles, French toast, pâté, and dumplings are all great.
- tina huangApril 12, 2015great service, tasty seasonal menu, delicious cocktails! order the little gems salad, pumpkin dumplings, & starbelly 75 cocktail.
- Jenny NAugust 7, 2013Cozy brunch/dinner spot with a lovely garden patio. Chicken liver pâté with caramelized onion jam is a perfect app!
- 7x7 MagazineOctober 30, 2012The forget their breakfast pizza for brunch. It has a combo of Chef Adam Timney's house-made pork chorizo, bright cilantro, and fresh farm eggs atop a naturally leavened sourdough crust. Read more
- I love a place that's open between lunch and dinner. Bonus for aperol spritz on a back patio. Open late for food, too.
- Anthony AdamsFebruary 21, 2017The french toast with its banana walnut syrup + mascarpone pairs nicely with the Chicken + waffles 👌🏽
- Amanda NatividadAugust 12, 2013Chicken liver pâté. Chorizo & egg pizza. Burrata. Do it. Even if you don't like pâté, are indifferent to burrata and, for some incredibly weird reason, you don't like chorizo.
- Try the Grilled Santa Maria Tri-Tip Steak - Just had a great dinner at Starbelly. Their patio picnics on Tues nights are amazing! If you have a chance to go ...it's a must!!
- Ryan HolmesOctober 4, 2015Everything is great here! We went twice in three days because we enjoyed it so much. Staff are great, vibe is great, burger is great!
- Graeme BoyMay 2, 2019Food used to be great, but the quality seems to have gone down recently. I was a regular, but I think it's lost its heart.
- When it's on the menu, order the pork sugo and spinach lasagna. Great textures, melty and whole-heartedly satisfying.
- Dale TegmanJune 5, 2012"Josie's Comedy Club and Juice Joint" was tasty by day funny by night. Lots of LGBT comics called it home. "Late Night with Joan Jett Blakk" was staged here: an always-sold-out weekend favorite.
- Get a pizza to share as a starter or your friends will just eat up the one you order and we don't want that, do we? Also: best Pimm's Cup this side of London, IMHO.
- Lauren MiyamotoNovember 27, 2013Wonderful ambiance and service-great for a relaxing lunch! Highlight of the meal was the seasonal cobbler with a scoop of Humphry Slocombe ice cream.
- Happy Hour from 3:30-6 every day but Saturday. How about a burger, fries AND a HH cocktail for just $20? Can’t beat it! 🍔 🍟🍸💵👍🏻
- meganJuly 21, 2015Great back patio for day drinking & eating on nice days. Go for the gold & order the pizza already.
- ConiJune 3, 2014Back patio is covered and heated for when it gets chilly. Nice area! Applewood smoked chicken breast was juicy with great flavor.
- Bjoern WeidlichNovember 8, 2015The burger is excellent, make sure you get it medium rare. The fries are super crunchy and delicious.
- Burger is surprisingly light while still filling. Totally workable for lunch or brunch without knocking you out for the afternoon.
- minijohnMay 19, 2015Best location in Castro for me. The service is awesome, the food rocks and the atmosphere is amazing!!!
- Larissa VazJune 17, 2014Start with a salad and the Starbelly 75. Then order a glass of red wine and the Pork Sugo...this will be a perfect match!
- Jonah PriceApril 28, 2012VEGANS: Ignore the host if s/he says their menu is vegan friendly. There at TWO items that can be altered to be vegan.
- Coralie SabinAugust 17, 2015Brunch in the outdoor patio is always nice! French toast is good and you can't go wrong with the eggs!
- Kurtis SaiyoAugust 18, 2011Amazing. They cure their own beacon and sausage. Appetizers, pizza, desserts, hamburger, and pasta are all wonderful. (not so impressed with Fig Pizza tho)
- Thê-Minh TrinhSeptember 9, 2014Beautiful place, ask for the patio! Pea fritters were good, Pardon peppers were meh (fat and no taste). The pizza margherita was delicious but just a bit too juicy.
- Get your burger 'Doc' style. You will not regret this decision for as long as you live.
- Make a reservation and sit on the back patio. Everything is good but the burgers and pizza are great.
- Pacific UnionJanuary 22, 2013So great that they take brunch reservations here. They'll also add your name to the list if you call before you leave home. Bangers and mash = yum!
- Andrea ScaramucciaMay 31, 2017The served food is simple and yet delicious, the waitresses are kind and ready for action. I liked their pizza very much!
