Check out the Studio Gang Architecture exhibit (til Feb 24) incl the very cool solar paneled Carven Tower to be built by the Highline in NYC by 2015

The Art Institute has included among it's vast collection the Death Mask of Napoleon (1821), it's not always on display, but an interesting bit of history none the less.

Have you ever noticed how artifacts are mounted? AIC's preparation department makes gorgeous mounts that are almost invisible to the average guest. Take a look!

Great collection of contemporary art was recently gifted to the Art Institute. The 4 Gerhard Richter paintings made it worth my time.

The Member’s Lounge does not allow food from the cafeteria. Get your free coffee and then go to the cafeteria. (Though, I wish they’d change this policy.)

Van Gogh's bedroom was less interesting than I thought and overcrowded. The other parts are pretty okay. Make sure that you have at least a half day for this museum.

Wide and different collections but without a guide was very confusing, ending up with a fast walk around.Security staff was very very rude at the moment of closing while I was reading the last panel.

Very "impressed" by the Impressionist Art Gallery! Probably the best I've seen second to Musee d'Orsay.
