Take the woodland trail to see some beautiful old growth forest. Make sure to check out the Offut Memorial Boardwalk along the way; the fern area is beautiful!

A living museum of forests & woodlands, meadows & display gardens, Holden is the largest of its kind in the U.S. It's a place of year round beauty with tremendous scientific and ecological importance.

Beautiful grounds, come walk your babies on the canopy walk to get them out of the house. Don't fall off the emergent tower. Come in autumn, stay until spring.

The staff will try to scare you away from doing the Molly Orffutt Memorial Boardwalk by telling you that there are 96 stairs to climb. It's no big deal, really, and the creek is fun for little kids.

Consider avoiding Old Valley and Pierson Creek Loop trails during the spring thaw as the water in the creek might make it too high to pass at the low points in the trails.

Wear really good walking shoes and perhaps even pack a lunch. So much to see.
