I would just go to the capital building. Three isn't anything here that you can't get three and you can your three capital. Skip this.
Open in the same location since 1947, Hill's Cafe is an Austin landmark serving up Texas specialties such as chicken-fried steak, tamales, barbecue, skillet enchiladas, fried chicken, and catfish.
Bob Cole runs another Austin landmark into the ground. Boo hoo, not making any money. There's not a godamn meal under $10! You can raise prices through the roof OR buy shit-quality food, but not both.

This library was dedicated on May 22nd 1971. Over 45 million pages of documents are located in this museum, some of which were written by LBJ himself.
The presidential library for Lyndon B. Johnson includes the presidential archives with millions of documents, and an extensive museum open to the public.

Is a collection of the weird and disturbing and includes such traditional freak show fair as a Fiji mermaid and a frog with teeth, shrunken heads, a preserved two headed cow, and a fortune teller.
Ask the owner or one of the staff to tell you some of the back story of the stuff there - it more then doubles the value of the $4 ticket!

'The Story of Texas' museum offers exhibits, theaters, films and interactive computer displays. The museum, which opened in 2001, also has Austin's only IMAX theater.

Ask to sit in a booth in the bar if you're a couple. Great service and a window. Grilled artichoke is excellent when they have it. Can't go wrong with the famous French Dip!
Hamburger, French dip, fish sandwich, salmon appetizer - all great options still. Ribs are good - always a good backpocket option, Bartlett's is.

They say this lovely Texas landmark is haunted. Me? I don’t believe in ghosts, and I had a lengthy debate about this very topic with a rather opaque visitor one autumn night in room 319.
Built in 1886 as the showplace of a cattle baron, the hotel stands as a landmark of Texas hospitality. The luxury hotel is close to the Capitol, Convention Center and entertainment districts.
The Driskell Bar makes me swoon (when it's not SXSW mobbed). Great live music. Revolver light fixtures. Killer bartenders. (And don't miss the cupcakes sneakily for sale at the bar)

The Driskill bar serves up the Batini! Roll like a cattle barron at this landmark of Texas hospitality. Since 1886 the Driskill has offered luxury and great service. Just don’t longboard in the lobby.
You can also order cocktails which are not on the drink menu. The Bloody Mary tasts extremly good.
