The meatballs are so good here, as is the eggplant. The Luca Brazi is tasty, as are the arancini, and the pizzas. However, it does take a bit longer to get food than other places on the block.

The Pollo Involtini is to die for. Port wine reduction over chicken breasts stuffed with spinach, fontina and prosciutto. The penne & sauce on the side is a bonus. Delicious.

Carlo's Cucina Italiana is a great little Italian restaurant in the heart of Allston that tastes like it should be on Hanover Street in the North End.
DEFINITELY pay the $3 extra for the home made pasta--the best I've ever had. All varieties are fabulous, but the ravioli, gnocchi, and cavatelli (small discs curled) are particularly outstanding.
Whatever you order for dinner will be your lunch the next day, the portions are insaneeeee

Visiting from Houston, TX- very authentic homey/Italian feeling restaurant. Loved the owner, the full wine glasses, and the food. Go for chocolate truffle!
