Dean Street hosts the Conrad McCrae Youth League on weekend mornings. Full-court pick-up games happen Sunday mornings, and the competition is hard-nosed. Legends: Conrad McCrae, Todd “Boogie” Davis.

There's a lot to do at McCarren Park: basketball courts, baseball fields, a huge swimming pool. I come here to stare enviously at people's dogs.

One of the best parks in Brooklyn to chill out with friends. If you’re sporty the park has baseball & soccer fields, a track and a pool! There’s even a dog area.

I threw a tennis ball to a dog here once. He came back with a tennis racquet and a tennis pro named Sheila. He was a very smart dog.

In the summer, many locals leave chicken bones and food after cook-outs. Beware, especially if you enjoy off-leash hours with your dog. Certain foods can be deadly.
