Sharif Nassr: Been here at least ten times, and the food is consistently good. Start with the robata: 'chicken satay' (with rice pearls), 'beef short rib', and 'shishito'. Finish with 'maguro' and 'hamachi' nigiri.
Angie: beef short rib is to die for
ben m: It's not often you find a fun BYO with great sushi and get to listen to T.R.O.Y. at the same time. The food from the grill was good too. Definitely will be back.

Marianaa Worrall: Beef short ribs were amazing and the corn bread. Very authentic place in Chicago, many true locals & clients that'd been coming here for years. Cafeteria style, cheap & huge portions. Service is great
Ben: Their omelets are the best in town. Also the steak and eggs is a great deal.
Shaun 'Pink' Pinkston: There are parking meters all around-good luck finding one at the right time, but if you park in the lot behind & across the street from the liquor store, Valois will validate - up to an hour - free!

Holly Shuman: The braised beef short rib dish was pretty good, just too salty. The menu is a little deceiving. The prices for pasta dishes are for a small plate, not an entree. The ambiance is nice.
Merly payne: Everyone is right about the gnocchi. Even if you don't like gnocchi, GET THE GNOCCHI. Also our service was fantastic. It is a slow-paced place - but in my view, this is a plus...relax and enjoy.
Chicago magazine: The delicate gnocchi with crisp sage and brown butter sauce are knockout, as are the lusty horseradish-revved short ribs.
