Somewhat surprisingly, Whole Foods is actually one of the cheaper grocery stores in the city (just avoid the $4 water)

Good Target — I’m all about online pick-up — but a limited grocery selection, even by Manhattan Target standards.
Usually out of stock of a lot of items come Sunday night. Grocery stock is quite low.
I love this place. Great for bulk ingredients (rice, quinoa, flour, etc) at low prices. Also, an incredible selection of international spices and cooking ingredients, especially for Asian cuisines.
This small shop near Curry Row is packed with dried spices and grains, fresh herbs, and plenty of beer. A neighborhood destination for Indian and south Asian pantry goods.
Come here to get whatever exotic spice you might need. Or to grab an exotic six pack of beer to bring to dinner upstairs at Panna II.
