If you're not afraid of anchovies, order the Lazio pizza (w. mozzarella, parsley, carciuga & lemon). These guys set a long-term standard other pizza joints can only try to live up to.

Bring lots of cash! Some vendors won't make eye contact, others friendly. It's the friendly ones that make the sale.
Of course they don't have decafe,... Should have known better... There *is* some artisanal decafes out there tho...
Quite an eclectic hidden gem. Artisans work from here as well as having great coffee and hipster feel.

Great 'supper' venue. The matched cheese and wine sampler is superb for romantic sharing & I left a much more enlightened international cheese eater thanks to the friendly & knowledgeable staff.
Take away a mix of cheeses, crackers and a bottle of wine and sit in the park across the road to get some sun.
So many choices for cheese and booze flights. Fondue is delicious too!

Awesome vintage bar/restaurant in a quiet st in Collingwood. Onion rings are great. Burgers decent & pulled pork also great. Worth a return.

If you like beer you must make a pilgrimage to The Local Taphouse. 2 bars of 20 taps each, updated regularly, more in bottles. These guys are the cutting edge of beer in Aust. Restaurant is great too!

Universal has some of Melbourne's biggest, cheapest and best Italian dishes you can find. It's by far the best value for money place I have found that puts a smile on my face everytime!

The Cabala ahumada is the most amazing thing I've ever put in my mouth. You must also get the cecina & carrillera de buey (the beef cheek is so tender you can cut it with a fork).

As the oldest pub in Melbourne, with skyscrapers around, while still in it's smaller size era, the meals, drinks and events are good. It's becoming the pub with more people outside than inside.
One of melbournes most iconic watering holes. Also the oldest building in the cbd.
