Richard Chen: Housemade soba (both 80/20 and 100 buckwheat) from scratch is remarkable, I think the only such place in Cali. Side items are also wonderful, try the pickles, matsumae-suke, herring, and chicken!
Brook Shelley: One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Outstanding food, great service, and a warm, stylish environment. Be sure to try the specials and the mountain potato fries.
Ryan Leggett: Phenomenally fresh soba in a little slice of Japan hidden in West Oakland. Try the Den sake, which is made nearby.

Nabeel Hyatt: Excellent burgers, pickles are great. But the interior layout, music, and vibe is pretty meh so sit outside on a nice day.
