This is a nice place 2 go 2 & walk up & down a mountain.
We drove up as far as we could at night, and then hiked the rest of the way up. The City of Phoenix at night, looked at from the mountain, is incredible. The lights turn into bocha dots. It's a must
One of my favorite mountains the trail is easy to follow and the view beautiful.
The view at the top of the mountain is beautiful. Come to this park if you want to get a nice view of the whole valley.
South Mountain Park & Preserve is larger than the island of Manhattan, with 50 miles of trails for riding, hiking & mountain biking. Motor to the top and enjoy a spectacular view of the whole valley.
I love this mountain. Really puts a perspective on your day when hiking it. I try to get up it at least 3 times a week and wish i could do more... As a matter of fact, i will.
Great place for a short loop hike up the mountain with great views.
Several trails to choose from of varying difficulties, tho none I would say are particularly hard... great views, great sunrise, great pics
There's a top-secret path on the South side of North mountain. Climb the hidden stair case at the end of Central and keep heading up. It connects to the paved path at the top of N. Mountain.
Phoenix Mountain Preserve is a great place to hike in the Valley and provides a good alternative to the often busy Camelback mountain during peak season.
Great hiking & mountain bike trails, but watch out for rattlers in spring & fall
I love hiking some of the trails on South Mountain. The one off 24th street is probably my favorite, but you will need someone strong to help you with some parts of it. The trail off Central too.
All the trails are fun, challenging and scenic.

Nice regional park with good trails. The loop trail up the mountain is good with awesome views for not much effort.

Stay away on the weekends, it's more like a club than a mountain. Easy on the perfume/cologne kids!

Tons of hiking areas! This has got to be my favorite hiking spot. The mountain has a variety of hiking levels, both steep and hilly. The best spot - Desert Foothills Parkway and Desert Broom Way.

Very nice park with a great view on the mountain. If you are a beginner when pertaining to hiking this is definitely a great place. I took my 5 year old and he had a blast!

Hike the Cholla Trail and it should take you 90 minutes for a round trip, wonderful views!
If your in town for a few days, and love hiking, you must attempt Camelback. It is a great hike with an amazing view! Just be cautious with parking, it can fill up pretty quickly so get their early.
A great, less crowded alternative to Piestawa Peak or Camelback Mountain. Get to the top, enjoy some trail mix and the beautiful view. Especially if there have been winter rains!
Best hiking in Phoenix metro area! Try Dixie Peak for a good thigh burn.
Listen for the coyotes just after sunset. Such an eerie experience to hear them howl.

Charming historical hotel close to the Camelback Mountain. The bed is really confortable. Water temperature in the shower is not constant 🚿
Very close to airport. Nice 'casitas' style resort. Try the bar menu and live music night (Thursday's) and the pool and spa are very, very nice.
