Best place to hike! So many different trails for all levels (including people who don't exercise at all). I've brought international friends here and out of town guests - they all loved it!

Numerous trail heads, lots of parking spots, and endless miles of trails. Bathrooms at most of the trailheads and the park is easily accessible from Phoenix, Tempe & Ahwatukee.
Beautiful hiking area, close to the west side of phoenix with great trails and feels secluded even if it’s not. Desert tortoise loop is east and fun.

Off the beaten path trail entrance that delivers a much better than expected experience. Mostly rocky trail and fairly rigorous from the get go. Great way to get to Hidden Valley and Fat Man's Pass.
Go up Mormon Trail until you hit National Trail. Turn either way and go until you get to Hidden Valley. You don't wanna miss that. Map it!

Probably the friendliest trail in the valley. I've never heard "Good Morning!" so many times in my life.
I went hiking here with my boyfriend & dog & it was quite an adventure! It's tucked away & a change of pace compared to Camelback. It was pretty busy on a Saturday morning, but try a weekday.

All the trails are fun, challenging and scenic.
I love hiking some of the trails on South Mountain. The one off 24th street is probably my favorite, but you will need someone strong to help you with some parts of it. The trail off Central too.
Get here before 8 if you want parking!
Despite the weather, bring LOTS of water (more than you think you will need). Also, plan your trip so you have enough time before sundown. Never hurts to let people know where you're going also.

Basically a paved/cobbled trail. Good for dates or easy hikes.
This is a great moderate trail with hills and valleys! If you hike over the hump, it will lead you to the back parking lot for Squaw Peak! Always bring lots of water!

Good intermediate loop trail of 3.5 mikes with about 600 ft of elevation. Start at dawn to beat the heat.
