Basic taco is flawless. Burrito bowl > burritos. Mexican coke, an excellent salsa bar (truly spicy!) and addictive guacamole are all wonderful, too. Nachos are the only disappointment, but who cares?

Bustling upscale Mexican spot with great heat and flavor. Extensive menu can seem overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. Amazingly good housemade chips, salsa and guacamole.

Elote (Mexican grilled corn) is a must. The calabacitas tacos (fried zucchini) are a great choice, even if you're not vegetarian. Ask for the salsa picante (hot sauce) if you need an extra kick.
Ugh, avoid this place. Tacos are over priced and brunch tamales unimpressive. Corn on the cob is about the only thing truly good about this place. Charging for chips and salsa? Come on.
Cool vibe. The Cemita is terrible. Avoid. It is soooo dry, and has no flavor. Salsa also lacking flavor. Ginger mojito not amazing either. Service, meh.

My favorite Tex-Mex place in DC. Bush senior used to go there all the time. When you order, make sure you ask to heat up the salsa like soup. It will make the meal.

Not bad, but definitely not the best place with Mex cuisine. Michelada wasn't that great and tacos el pastor were slow cocked which is not the way they are usually cooked. We liked their salsas a lot!

Ask for the salsa verse -- much better than the gringo dip and probably one of the best salsas I have eaten anywhere -- and I am from Arizona, where we call Mexican Food, just "food".
Pretty solid 24 hour taco stand, I recommend the Maui tacos made with grilled rockfish, black bean and corn salsa, avocado, cilantro and like sour cream.

Dishes are upscale enough to be worthy of leaving home for but not so much that they become precious. What to get: Oysters on the half shell; seafood-studded salsa; grilled bacon-wrapped oysters.

Order Mariscos De Campechana, it's a ceviche "salsa" served with tortilla chips. Original and delicious. Great selection of oysters.
