Definitely my favorite ramen in LA. Try the spicy miso ramen. The coleslaw salad is good too.

Hakata ramen - hard noodles, strong base, extra noodles for $0.95. Skip the egg, but go for the garlic or spicy miso!

baby halibut karaage is legit. make sure you use lemon tho
Great spot and food if you're with the kids: free miso and green tea ice cream. But if you're a diehard (and kidless) go one block south, to Echigo.
Really busy even on a weeknight. But still a great place. Great tasting food!

The ginger dressing is seriously out of this world. Don't order anything but the premium BBQ beef set. Comes with endless salad and miso soup.

An incredible family-run restaurant featuring authentic and delicious yakitori! The chef is awesome. Get Orion and plum wine to go with yakitori.

Best little sushi spot in the neighborhood! Try the miso even if you usually skip it.
The noodle combination is fresh and delicious! Great quality and generous portion for it's price. They also play nice jazz during lunch!

Great little spot for two. Try the chicken meatballs or the chilean sea bass.
The Lamb with salt (not garlic) and black cod are a must. Be sure to order an overflowing glass or two or three of kurosawa sake with your meal. I was a nanbankan addict for months!
Get a seat by the bar. Faster service and you get to watch the chefs cook up your skewers. I always get the nanbanyaki, chicken tail and lamb.
Sushi lunch set is very good value. Sashimi is real fresh like when I had at shukiji. Udon is so soft and soup is delicious.
