Come for the food, stay for the Angel Share quality Japanese cocktails. Great infused whiskeys and gins. Anything with egg whites tastes like a boozy milkshake.

Make your own tasting menu. The uni croquette with mushrooms was worth every $3 bite. The short rib sashimi was great too. Go heavy on appetizers and enjoy what feels like a Japanese living room.

Amazing beef choices - short rib sashimi, steaks with a heaping amount of crispy potatoes, steak tartar. Don’t miss the ikura/sashimi bowl, uni croquettes, and miso cod if you’re a fish person.

Loved the tartare and short rib sashimi. Get the sweet potatoes with your steak - they're fantastic. Great cocktails too!

While the tasting menu can be tempting-- I would recommend ordering a la carte, since the tasting menu misses out on some of the gems (miso cod, foie gras soba, steak).

Take a date here (if you can find the secret phone # for reservations, shhhh) and share this fun fact over drinks: Jean-Michel Basquiat died of a drug overdose in the studio upstairs. Instant romance!

Learning about this place is only the first step. Get a referral by a prior diner to get in the door! Once you're in, the uni croquette and branzini are must-gets (and don't skip the cocktails!)

Awesome dining experience. Food and atmosphere were fantastic, and the fact that it's so underground, in a "speakeasy" way makes it that much more of a cool experience, and keeps the crowd authentic.

The food is exquisite. The steak is a little overpriced. But everything was delicious. The Bergamot cocktail was interesting and satisfying. Their mixology is on par.

My not-so-secret spot in NY to have a nice and relaxed dinner. Seats are too comfortable, which is great for me. Food is constantly amazing. Prices are ok+ for NY.

Everyone will tell you to order the sake panna cotta. While delicious, it's more "different" than "dessert." Order two scoops of the goat cheese and cherry ice cream instead. You WON'T regret it.

Beef sashimi is very good. Pan roasted branzino tasted good with simple seasoning and lots of herb aroma, though some bites could be a tad too dry. Uni croquette was a disappointment; don't order it!

Price point great 4 creative fare & portions. Star was Foie gras soba but w/ Svc & all else (uni croquette, veggie fondue, assorted sashimi rice "teacup," dbl smoked bacon, & burger), 9.2 fell short.
