Come see how nature has been taking over at this repurposed concrete plant! The recently opened park includes connections to local bike paths and a launching point for canoes or kayaks.
If you are interested in helping out at the park in anyway email me your info and what you would like to do at andrerivera801@hotmail.com and name it Concrete Plant Park
The Bronx has a way of taking disparities and turning them into an attraction. You could attribute the odd shapes to the fact that it used to actually be a concrete plant. Creative things on the way!
Concrete Plant Park was home to a concrete batch-mix plant from 1945 to 1987. The silos, hoppers and conveyor structures here are a remnant of the park's industrial past.
Somehow the tips here made me think this place is much bigger than it actually was. It's a nice place, but not really worth it if you're not already in the neighborhood.
2013 Will be a very active year for the park, check out Bronxriver.org for further info on how you can get involved also look for me I am always there.
