awesome location in dc. reagan's attempted assassination was here and the White House correspondents dinner is every year. if you order anything at the restaurant/bar, you can bring it to your room
The Hilton has a high-end sound system that runs an eclectic and interesting mix in their public restrooms. After a 5-day meeting (#AMIA2014), I really appreciated the acoustic oasis from the noise.
Don't get this place confused with one of several other Hiltons in DC. A decent stay. Often several parties going on, so ask for a quiet floor if you have business meetings then next morning.
Very nice hotel. Great staff. However walls in rooms are very thin. Someone was smoking next to me and it was all in my room. Room rate was adjusted. Rooms were very modern.
Lauriol Plaza - the best Mexican in NW DC - is very close. Exit using theTerrace/Convention level, walk left on "T" two blocks & you are there. There is other food and embassy row over there as well.
Many complaints about poor water pressure but ours was great. The location is convenient to public transit and shopping centers. The restaurants inside are way more expensive than they're worth tho.
One of Washington's most historic hotels. The Washington Hilton is the site of the annual White House Correspondents Dinner. Notable hosts include Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon & Conan O'Brien.
The rooms can be tricky to locate so I recommend reading the signs or else you will wander for 20 mins like everyone else who is looking for their room.
Thin walls- - you can hear conversations in next rooms and in halls. Crank AC before bed- comforters are nice but too warm in hot weather and there is no other blanket.
The walls are thin, I can hear the tv next door. The water pressure is lacking. BUT the service has been great, it's a great location, lots going in area.
Don't plan to have large group functions here. Our bustour had to wait on the curb. Everything had to be moved outside, including serving bag luncheson the ground because we couldn't use the tables.
Exceptional service, especially front desk and housekeeping. The business center is now the Fed Ex Center and internet access is .40 a min. No free access to a computer to check in for flight.
Had a 24 hour stay here. On the surface it's a typical Hilton property. We had no running water and a non-flushing toilet. Bad but they agreed to comp the room as a result so overall no complaints.
Site of the R. Reagan shooting. Very centrally located, but lacking some normal amenities. Room I stayed in had no mini fridge and no fan in the bathroom.
Home of the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner. In 1924, Calvin Coolidge became the first of 14 presidents to attend this annual dinner. Get your wonk on at http://NBCPolitics.com
Valet parking is expensive!! $22 before tip for an hour and a half! Save yourself some cash and use public parking and walk a bit if just there for a conference, etc.
