Plenty of biometric passport control stations: don’t queue if you don’t have to

Good now I know about the north to south shuttle service
Don't use the ePassport gates. The queue is _always_ slower than the regular queue. Always.
There is pedastrian bridge over airport. Cool to walk

If staying at a local hotel the drop off bus stop for south terminal is much more accessible than the N terminal. Transfer to north via train shuttle

Have to buy ticket BEFORE you get on the train now...they have installed barriers before the platforms
Shohldve parked at McDonalds and got whoever you are picking up to call you rather than use short stay carpark!- It's a dreadul place, so much walking. The bus stops at North terminal are miles from the entrance so go to S terminal & use shuttle train. At least you'll be under cover.
Temperature is very low so bring your sweatshirt with you!
Free wifi for 45mins with the Boingo Hotspot upstairs...

Despite what other popular tips say, you can't buy a Gatwick Express ticket on the train: you need one before you pass the barriers.

Avoid planes flying into Gatwick very late if you want to get to London Bridge, I ended up on painful replacement bus service and arriving too late for underground connections
Despite calling itself London Gatwick, it has no relation to London and your Oyster Card is not valid here. That's o the sarcastic guard telling me we are not in London. I am aware of that.

The First Capital Connect service to London Bridge gets you to the city faster than the Gatwick Express

In the South Terminals departure area, Gatwick put the toilets at the back of the Duty Free Shop. What an incredibly frustrating annoyance.
Get water, drinks, coffee etc before you head to your flight gate - there are only vending machines at the gates.
