If you have time to kill (especially with kids) take the transfer bus between terminals. You'll get a unique perspective on the airport, driving under terminals and along the Tarmac. Kind of cool.
If you want to go to Times Square you can take one of the Newark Airport Express busses (coach USA). It's really fast and it comes every 15 during the day.
Air travel can be tough on the knees and joints so while in flight, rotate the ankles in a circular motion one at a time. Then, sit back, relax and enjoy your flight.
New terminal C is actually really nice, seats and plugs for everyone. Food and drink is a bit overpriced, but considering its served to your seat and bill is paid immediately, its really convenient
Top dining options: Earl of Sandwich at term A gates A20-28, Grand Central Oyster Bar and Vino Volo, both at term C gates C70-99, and Le Grand Comptoir and Smashburger, both at term C gates C120-139. Read more
The burger place at the end of c terminal lets you bring beer to the gate in a coffee cup.. It Helps to brace yourself for bad news.. All the $6 or $9 dogfish you can drink!
If you're trying to get from Newark to NYC, don't ask the transportation help desk. They weren't helpful and didn't know what they were talking about. Use the internet! Or just use Airtrain and NJT.
If you fly often, bring an empty gym bottle with you & fill it out from the water fountains. Bring your own snacks or eat before you leave home. An omelette + cup coffee here will run you $23.
In Terminal B if you want gum or other flight goodies be sure to stop at Hudson News in the hall leading to the gates before getting comfortable. Just a Duty Free store occupies the center area.
Terminal C between gates Gates C70-99 has a large seating area with a sit down restaurant and a variety of ethic cuisines that are made quickly, but really impressed considering it's airport food!
Smooth sailing for Manhattan entry. Party of one or two? Take the Airtrain on upper level straight to Penn Station for $13 a pop. Party of four? Lyft or Uber for $55 or so straight into Manhattan!
Vegans! In Terminal C on the main concourse (before you go down to any terminal C gates) Balducci's offers vegan options. Mostly pasta but with flavor. There are also veggie sticks & hummus.
This is my preferred NYC area airport. It’s the easiest to navigate in and traveling to. I parked at P-6 economy lot and I recommend pre-booking to save a few bucks. They have a bus that picks you up.
Absolute sh*t show of an airport. You check-in and go through security at different level according to your class. Not clear. Security is pretty quick. The regular one goes faster than the others.
If you are in Terminal C and are looking for a cheap breakfast, you can get a bagel with butter and a small coffee for less than $6 at the GardenStateDiner by gates C101-C115.
TSA is a total Joke! Clueless as to the rules governing TSA Prechek! Oh, you get to keep your shoes on... ONLY benefit for TSAPrechek! Typical! Just make up your own rules Newark!!! Communists!!
The air train is a relief helps you a lot, all facilities are very fine and comfy,if you stayed upon Newark Hilton hotel the P4station will be your next step the shuttle will pick you up right here ug
It’s $35 to take a Lyft Line to Manhattan. If you take the train it’s $13 for the NJ Transit and $3 on the subway to get to your station. Important to know if you have bags etc. 💼😍👜
If someone's planning on picking you up without parking, better rush out to meet him/her because enforcement will make you move if double-parked and you'd have to go around again (and again).
I fly in and out of Terminal C for international flights several times a month. It’s beautiful - clean, spacious with great restaurants and self-serve shops with tons of healthy snack options.
It's getting better and better. Love the new food options where you order from an iPad. It allows the traveler with limited time to control the pace of the service.
Worth noting: Dozens of bathroom visits across weeks of international travel. All, save one (predictably sketchy dive restaurant in Chennai) were 100% better than those in baggage claim, terminal B.
Order your bagel on an iPad but they have to have someone standing next to the iPad explaining how to use it and then take your receipt to a different iPad to pay for it. What sadist designed this.
Taxi note: Traveling to Manhattan, metered fare; $60 to $75, plus bridge and tunnel tolls and gratuity; 45 to 60 minutes to Midtown Manhattan. $5 surcharge at weekday rush hours and weekends.
I love this airport! While it may not have a lot of frills, arriving and departing from here is always a breeze. I also think EWR (over LGA) is much quicker to get to from west side Manhattan
Just arrived? Grab the airtrain from any terminal towards the train station. There, grab a $13 one-way ticket to Penn station : cheapest/fastest way to Manhattan.
Wow! Amazing! ... OTG has done a tremendous job in upgrading terminal C. It's one of the best domestic airport terminals to fly out of for sure. Looking forward to our next trip
Hungry at Terminal B? There is a food court in the centre of the terminal opposite the train. Subway, Wendy's etc. The terminal is split into three satellites - each past security with 2 restaurants.
Terminal Cfood court is amazing!!!! Best I have ever seen in 30plus yrs of domestic and international travel. Wanderlust burgers are really delicious!!
If you're flying from terminal B, eat at the pre-security food court next to gates 50-58. There's a nice place called Curritos worth checking out. The Famous Familiglia's eatery is pretty fresh too.
One of my favorite airports. They have a lot of amenities (food, seating, shops, charging stations) and the facilities are clean! They have iPad stations too
It’s huge, security is normally slow with long lines. Terminal C is normally quick despite long lines. Food in C is not great despite recent cosmetic refresh. Spent too much on iPads & not good food.
