I tried the Tartufata (black truffle pate). 16" is a perfect two person size. I liked the thin Neapolitan crust. It was tasty, but I wouldn't consider it one of NYC's best. Draft beer: Moretti only.
order the michele: love that they don't skimp on the mushrooms and you really can't go wrong with truffle. pairs nicely with the diavola (spicy salami). the fried calamari is nothing special.
They basically ruined this place with their move from EV > Houston to become more trendy. The amazing gnocchi is moved their sister restaurant. The pizza sold at Luzzos is more fast eats aiming
I think the best pizza in NYC. Get a buffala pizza and you'll thank me. And them. Them more. It's the lightest, freshest pizza you'll enjoy outside of Napoli.
Tried the 12'' pizza with Truffle Pate. Just good to fill up 2 hungry souls. Dough had a chewy bite and thickness' just right. Be sure to eat right away ! No reservation req on a weekday night.
The spicy salami pizza with ricotta is AMAZING! crust was flaky and perfect. The fresh ricotta and spicy olive oil was absolutely delicious. But the restrooms are disgusting!! Cash and Amex only.
The pizzas are absolutely delicious, easily the best I've had in my life. The waiters are nice and friendly and so is the atmosphere, the place is highly recomendable
The pizza is outstanding, time after time.. Absolutely blows away lots of other top rated pizza in NYC... Never disappoints. Their food is great too....
$12-17 for 12in, $21-25 for 16in. 12in is enough for 2 if you're getting an app or desserts. 16in for 2 if super hungry, but it's pretty huge. indoor only.
Good pizza but beware of the cockroaches crawling around! We found one on the wall once and the waiter was like whatever and walked away! Also make sure your glasses are clean- lipstick stains are ew!
If Luzzo's regular margarita pie is always that good, I am going to become a regular in no time. Friendly service and perfect pizza are the norm here :)
Luzzo's used to be amazing. Now it's just really good (the rumor is they had to change their oven in some way). The sauce is a tangy and interesting, but the crust lacks the fluff it used to have.
