This is my Geysir. I know it is sleeping, and my Strokkur is erupting more right now (but all the geysers in the world are named after it, so please show some respect and try not to fall into it).
This place is awesome. Be sure to climb the steps and head up the trail for bonus prettiness. Also the first tour buses arrive at 8:30am, so plan accordingly! (It's much better without huge crowds)
this was once the oldest house in sofloss, and, since 2013, houses what is probably the best (and most adorable) restaurant in the area.
Impressive waterfall - highest volume of water of all waterfalls in Iceland. Nice scenery. Serene. Highly recommended.
Cosy and familiar place in the middle of nowhere, a hidden gem if you're out touring the Golden Circle. The lamb fillet was extraordinary.

Great place, somewhat hidden from the main attractions off the golden circle, but worth finding. Lovely, hot, relaxing and recommend to give it a try! Especially given its a bargain price too!

Walking there takes you through a cave, crossing the river over a log and climbing the cliff on ropes. Awesome!
book in advance, tickets sell out days in advance! definitely overpriced for what it is, but it's definitely a must when in Iceland
Modern, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and good value for money for a city centre hotel. Great location near to Reykjavik's main shopping/eating areas.
Definitely my favorite bar in Reykjavik. Love the atmosphere. Knowledgable, courteous bartenders! And while I didn't try the pizza downstairs, it smells delicious.
Awesome selection of local beers coming from micro breweries. Super nice staff as well, very friendly. I highly recommend LAVA beer. If you like tasty and smokey beers.
Best coffee in Reykjavik. Hipster-place, but well, it's still a good choice on your way to the places of interest. Get a seat in the back. It's more cosy. But in front of the bathroom.
If you're into preservation of artifacts + archeology, this is the spot! Pair this with a visit to the National Museum of Iceland. btw, the national gallery js along the way...

Don't let the name fool you - this is not a tourist trap, but rather a cosy, semi-upscale place w/ delicious food. The lamb and cod were excellent. Plus they have cool wall murals of different fish.
Healthy breakfast that will get you going for your trips. They also offer free coffee and orange juice refill. There is also free yam and peanut butter (my favourite combination!).
At 74.5 meters, you would have been able to see all the activities of Reykjavik's year as European Capital of Culture in 2000 from the tower of this church and sometime concert hall. Read more.
Great trips to see the Aurora. Really worth a boat trip to try to see it. It was cloud but open up and we manage to see a light one
Breathtaking landmark in the port. Worth a visit during the day and by night when the outside is illuminated - to mimic northem lights. The visit of the building is free and it's open till late.
Photo spot every 5 kilometers. Plus the fissure and the waterfall. Crystal clear water! Gorgeous.
U get the best views, if you stop right after the intersection leading to the parking lots near the campground. No ropes here. Hike into the crack and go for a stroll between Europe and America.
Incredibly scenic views, diverse and amazing natural beauty, a phtographic paradise with friendly/helpful people. Easy to get around on the ring (1) road.
Fish soup is really good.Salted cod is too salty for my preference but lamb is a MUST ORDER.Remember to make reservation as this place is very popular. Food is hearty with lots of texture and flavor.
This restaurant might be the best one of Reykjavik. Order their Eskimojito if you're thirsty: a delicious mojito made with Brennivin (local schnapps) instead of rum.
The British newspaper Guardian said them to be the best hot dog stand in Europe! The queue can be long, but its definitely worth it. Order like a local and get one with everything. Read more.
This place is cosy, quirky and great for families. Go here for breakfast or brunch - you won't be hungry when you leave!
Unique museum, but the US$10 price of admission for a couple small rooms of mostly animal penises and knick-knacks may be questionable for some. Good for photo ops though.

One of the world's most famous geysers is Strokkur, which erupts every 10 minutes cascading hot water 20 metres up in the air. Definitely a must see if you are in Iceland
Impressive waterfall. Go all the way to the end near the river (and even a bit further). Scary for some but absolutely breathtaking. Arrive early and absorb the massive power all by yourself.
The only other really good pizza place. Recommendation: Offer 1 - Bröllur (cheesy bread) and a pizza.
Amazing meal and fantastic service. While we loved Fish market we actually preferred Fish Company. Seafood 3 course sas delish, so was the Christmas pork dish. Nothing will disappoint you there!
Wow. The tasting menu here was arguably the best meal I have ever had. Diverse, delectable dishes. And the dessert flight is absolutely out of this world. A must for any foodie visiting Reykjavik.
Best grocer in town. Good meat and fish counter with varied offerings from around the country's best farmers, just ask how it is farmed.
Cute but mini waterfall compared to Gullfoss, but you are already in Iceland, so, don't miss it!
One of the best burger I ever tried. I like the Lamb Burger, it's juicy (not greasy) and nice sauce inside it. It's a self service restaurant and gets very crowded during peak time.
Popped in for dinner after seeing reviews on here; wasn't disappointed. Burgers are homemade, cooked perfectly, chips are plentiful - large will feed 2. Decor is very American diner which we loved!
This hostel is incredible. Clean, hipster but not pretentious, fantastic breakfast every morning, cool bar with great food at night, staff are friendly & helpful. The world needs more KEX hostels!
Opened only four weeks ago, this is one of the loveliest airport lounges I've visited. Beautiful layout, friendly and helpful staff, clean, with a nice selection of cheeses, cold meats, and olives.
We visited during wintertime and the waterfall was half frozen, which made it extra epic. Definitely a must see in Iceland.

The canyon was created by progressive erosion by flowing water from glaciers through the rocks and palagonite over millennia.
Awesome abandoned DC-3. Specially if you are lucky enough to visit it without people.
Great hot pool! Come here for the "real" Icelandic bathing experience. It's free and there are showers, toilets, lockers and even a small shop. Great place to relax!
Came here instead of Blue Lagoon. I can't imagine you would need/want to do both. Lifeguards bring you beers while you soak (9000 ISK) which is fun. Worth doing but we prefer the natural hot pots.
