Order the eponymous ramen made with a combination of cooked & toasted noodles that float in a coconut milk broth. There are also some traditional bites like edamame, gyoza, & spicy pickled cabbage. Read more

With its unconventional ramen, Tabata may be a love it or hate it. This is the Sutamina Ramen - spicy miso & soy sauce flavored noodle soup w/ pork, leeks, scallions, garlic paste & egg.

Tabata's namesake dish intertwines Burmese and Japanese cuisines. The broth is a combination of soybean and coconut, which is then topped with spicy chicken, red onions, flavored egg, and cilantro.

I and my husband opted for ramen, our daughter had a rice with fried chicken and some sauce and everything was sooo good. Really I probably come back to New York just because of this noodle soup.

Always a solid choice for a meal in this odd part of town behind Port Authority. The Tan Tan Men Ramen is always a good choice as well as the Takowasabi. Read about my visit on WinstonWanders below! Read more

Dark Men: This garlic-infused black sesame broth is rather alarming but it slurps up mellow and porky, with the scallions providing highlights. Read more

Nice to find a ramen place that shows a little creativity. The coconut milk-based Tabata Ramen dish is tasty.

Although I felt like I was cheating on Ippudo, I was thrilled with this less crowded, less expensive alternative near my office. The ramen is also delicious. The spicy "Lava Men" is my favorite!

You would get better ramen for almost the same price at Ippudo or Totto Ramen... but at least here there is minimal wait, which can make all the difference. Overall good ramen though! (Tonkotsu Ramen)

Great quick lunch spot. The sutamina ramen was not the prettiest bowl I've ever seen but the combo of soy and miso broth is fantastic with the crunch of scallion.

Good, reasonably priced ramen and other Japanese dishes. Get the Tabata ramen ( their other ramen dishes are good, too, but this one is special.) non-ramen dishes are good too.

AMAZING. Best ramen AND rare authentic Burmese. Makes me miss my mom's home-cooked Burmese food. Love the garlic noodles (Sichet khao sware) and coconut noodles w/chicken (Ounoh khao sware).

A great addition to the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. The signature Tabata Ramen is a must-order - it includes spicy chicken, plus a coconut milk and soy powder broth.

Flavor of the Tonkotsu ramen is very good, but only 2 lonely pieces of overcooked pork in the lunch ramen. Places in the E Village provide better quality overall.
