What a true southern gem in chicago. Everything from the decorations and music to the wonderfully fried and non fried selection of farm to table delights. Beet salad is a must. She crab soup is yum.

Easily THE BEST Southern food I've had in Chicago. Get the Mac and cheese and fried chicken! I was too full for the pecan pie but it looked amazing!

All these items are dope: ginger & lioness cocktail, fried chicken, mac & cheese, cornbread and stuffed chili pepper. Hot sauce should be on the table from jump.

Obviously, try the mac & cheese and save room for dessert. The Hummingbird Cake is their signature dessert, BUT I highly recommend the Sweet Corn Custard...absolutely to die for. Awesome atmosphere.

Everyone talks about the fried chicken but it's actually really, really bland. The mac 'n cheese is transcendental, though. Get it!

If you are lactose intolerant and sadly cannot have the Mac and Cheese (which should be the ONLY reason you don't get it), I feel badly for you. Try the Maple-glazed Sweet Potatoes as your side.
