Maria Pecoraro: This is not as stuffy of a place as might think. Do ask them to recommend a wine or two to pair with dinner. Well worth it. And ask for a tour of the kitchen because it's amazing!

HISTORY: The Tavern opened in 1868 and is said to be haunted by a Confederate Civil War veteran who, knifed in a fight, staggered up to the second floor to die in a bathtub that’s still there.
