My favorite hike in Los Angeles because of the green and lush trail. You hike next to a little stream with greeneey everywhere. For a real challenge continue on to observatory trail.
Great trail! They have an intense and lower impact option! Parking is tough so go early!
GREAT hiking on the West Side. Much less crowded than Runyon and FAR superior views. Be sure you are comfortable parking on steep hills!
Bring a headlamp or a flashlight if you go an hr before sunset. It gets dark fast!
It seems steep going up but it's slightly steeper going up on the waterfall side (as in image below)
Beautiful views. Multiple ways to access and enjoy the trail. Vistas from the first turn makes it one of the easiest to appreciate.

Great hiking trail, excellent Runyon alternative if you're trying to avoid the crowds.
More beauty and less traffic then Runyon Canyon Park.
start at the top-it's far less crowded and much more adventurous. go up laurel and take a right on mullholand. go about a mile down and look on the right for a park entrance

Grab your hiking boots and make your way from the Los Angeles Zoo to the Griffith Observatory, made famous by “Rebel Without a Cause.” Stop at Trails Café for lunch.
Once you find parking, the walk is very nice and depending on what time of the day, great for people watching.
Best time go 5:30 am

If you're short on time you can bypass 45 minutes of the hike by parking up the residential road vs. Los Liones Road
Almost died going up, but the view once you get there is amazing!!!
Bring Water.. And never look up, til u get to the top... Then Smile :-)
From the bottom to the top of the stairs is approximately .15 miles of climbing.
Ultra dangerous volcano. We lost three climbers on the way up who fell in a ravine and died. Make sure to hire a good Sherpa. Tons of avalanches. still trapped here at the summit - please send help.
Take the waterfall trail for a short hike along the creek that ends in a beautiful waterfall gorge.
