Honestly, the best part of my meal was the warm pita and creamy hummus. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the free baklava didn't hurt either!
Omar's is outstanding! The staff was friendly, and the chicken shawarma platter was excellent! The warm pita and hummus were delicious, and inexpensive.

New place on Ave B serves specialty tins of select fish and seafood in seasoned oils. Comes with warm pitas and butter for dipping and sharing - fantastic. I labeled the tins for the curious.
Canned seafood? Yes please! The canned scallops are great! Pair with Riesling. Done.

Vegan options include the chopped salad (very good), and the fried artichoke hearts (just skip the cheese). Great atmosphere, good selection of beer.

Quite simply a lovely place to eat with friends. The shakshuka or Israeli breakfast for brunch. Always the labaneh and cauliflower. And I love the mint lemonade.

I highly recommend the Mata Hari -- burbon, mezcal, citrus and a splash of ginger beer. It's a flavorful cocktail that is sweet, tart and smokey that is surprising harmonious and a delight to drink.
