Outstanding menu and service. The food is really good and the servers really know the menu and help with suggestions. Not your typical Mexican restaurant and typical Mexican menu.
This place ROCKS! Try the Chicken Mole Enchiladas, the Chicken Rellenos or the Shrimp Rellenos. Best chips n salsa too. Love that it's a real locals place no gringo Mex slop. :)
Amazingly good, chicken chile rellenos, chicken mole enchiladas, chorizo and eggs and the tamarindo margarita...my suggestions!

There's plenty of great Mexican food in the Phoenix-Scottsdale area, but this one wins thanks to its pork pibil and mole as well as its murals designed by local painters and graffiti artists.
Both the red & black mole are totally awesome! The black is more spicy.

The Beef Ribs in mole is the best ribs I have ever eaten
They are known for their chicken apparently and it does not disappoint. They also make their pastrami in house and it is fantastic.
You will wonder, what is a Nutella iced coffee boba. Be careful. It has a texture not unlike grumous basil seed drinks. (Not familiar? Think runny egg white jelly)
One word - FABULOUS. The Kale Salad, Shrimp Ceviche or Mole Tacos are crazy good.

The best Mexican food I've ever held. The salsa is spicy - just how I like it! Enjoy... can't ever go wrong with the ground beef tacos! Delish.

The staff is super friendly and professional. The prices are good and so is the service and love their specials!
The nachos are huge. Do not order them, thinking of a small plate of chips and cheese. The venue is intimate, and the noise level is very doable for stand-up comedy.
Amazing lunch specials. The chimi never disappoints! Comes with sour cream and guacamole which some restaurants make you charge extra.

We Love this place! Been a few times now and everything was simply delicious. The Fajitas in particular were Wow! WARNING: At La Barquita you come for the food NOT the atmosphere or the service.

Don't come for the atmosphere or the service because you won't get much. The food however (thump thump, thump thump) will make your heart skip a beat. Yeah its that good! Get the Molcajete. Special!
