If you're doing the Lunch Tasting menu order the Jumbo Oyster as the appetizer, Cod & Octopus as the entre, Salmon Sashimi in Wasabi Puree as the rice entre and Matcha Ice Cream for dessert.

David Bouley’s newest sushi spot, run by chef Isao Yamada, is easily the best place in New York for kaiseki, the elaborate Japanese tasting menu. Tokyo superstars Super Potato designed the space.

Excellent Kaiseki tasting experience! Especially loved the corn soup and the Hassun dishes. Matcha ice cream with white chocolate sauce was a perfect finish. Highly recommend!

Great kaiseki ryori in NYC. Richard, captain and his back waiter Emily know their stuff. Takemoto-san arrived from Osaka one month ago & his authentic style shines through in the kitchen & its food.

I'd pass on the futomaki rolls—just not very refined for the experience & price. Also skip any of the fried dishes. Do try the duck breast, wagyu, tuna hand roll, or octopus. Service is a bit slow.

Hi, sit in the bar, have the wagyu beef and the oyster appetizer. The staff is friendly, introduce yourself, when you call, they will let you know if there are seats in the bar.

It was lovely, but for half the money you could go to Sugiyama, for twice the money you could go to Masa. It felt like a half-measure. The wine/sake pairings were excellent though, with nice rarities.
