- All the rolls looked amazing and were. I liked the chicago roll and Motown effect. Byob too. The Robata grill was pretty good too. Very cheap good food
- Cat GaoApril 25, 2014The robata grill items are better than the sushi. Try the tuna miso, pork shoulder, and short rib - they are not to be missed!
- Van WilhoiteAugust 23, 2018One of my favorite sushi places in Chicago. Fresh, flavorful and inventive. Only disappointment is that they recently discontinued BYOB. Bonus: get the tater tots appetizer, you won’t regret it.
- Aishwarya SharmaJune 24, 2016My friend & myself shared Boy meets World (yum!), my fave Midwest roll, Motown & Dragon. We liked all. Fresh& delicious! This place is reasonably priced for such great food.
- Samuel De LeoJune 23, 2017One of the most creative sushi's I've ever seen. The prices are not expensive at all for what they serve and the food is delicious. BYOB is a great option too!
- Leila Prospero De AraujoAugust 19, 2018Best Japanese food in Chicago! We go at Yuzu because everything there is so fresh,Cheffs prepare a lot of amazing things with an unique flavor!Thank you so much for make us feel so special We loveYUZU
- David HeiserSeptember 9, 2015The best reasonably priced sushi restaurant in Chicago. If you don't want to spend more than $30 per person, this is your best bet. They recently expanded, which reduced wait times by a lot.
- Angie MunozApril 27, 2015Gyoza and shrimp tempura rolls were alright. Pier 69, i did not like. Chicago roll was REALLY good! My husband ordered the Robata #2 and enjoyed it. Miso soup is really good here too, very flavorful.
- Andie FonsecaDecember 24, 2015BYOB sushi restaurant located in a nice area of Chicago. The rolls are just amazing! Every roll is served in a creative way. Though life 2
- Been here at least ten times, and the food is consistently good. Start with the robata: 'chicken satay' (with rice pearls), 'beef short rib', and 'shishito'. Finish with 'maguro' and 'hamachi' nigiri.
- CarolJanuary 6, 2016It lives up to the hype, the sushi is the best in Chicago. Get The Big Chill and the tuna poke appetizer. You won't be disappointed.
- AJ WeinbergMarch 12, 2016Food- great, service- great, however if you call and ask about reservations and they say "we don't take them anymore" they mean for the night so don't go and expect to put your name on a list
- Bethany UlrichApril 8, 2018Blown away by the tasty sushi rolls, the sweet potato tempura, the udon, the byob policy and of course the beautiful artwork!
- C ReyMarch 15, 2016BYOB and their specialty rolls come with some wildly saucy artwork. Edamame bowl is huge. Monster Dragon is delish.
- JABRIL YOUSEFFebruary 27, 2020affordable $13 sushi lunch specials! unfortunately, after march 1, 2020, there will be a $10 cork fee for wine and no beer allowed :(
- Antonio BurrowesMarch 4, 2018Avocado mango salad 🥗 it was really good!!!! Also try the breaking bad roll
- Sarai NDecember 19, 2012BYOB! This little gem is always packed for dinner. The rolls are both works of delectable art and reasonably priced! A new favorite.
- David HillJanuary 25, 2016You can't go wrong with any of the specialty rolls. Everything from the food to the service is excellent.
- EllyMay 5, 2013Don't miss out on the robata! Order one of each. Jumbo sushi rolls are so big you'll have to unhinge your jaw.
- КSeptember 14, 2014All show and no fish. The rolls are 80% rice and some cooked fish on the side. I didn't see a roll with actual raw fish in the whole restaurant.
- Christina ChangMay 24, 2016Everything! I come here every once in a while or have a person to casual talk
- The sushi sauce art on the jumbo rolls will blow your mind.
- Richard BlackwellAugust 8, 2014Expect good service and a fun time, in a loud place with only passable sushi. Second best place in the area
- Ryan BoubelikDecember 6, 2013Probably the tastiest sushi I have had in Chicago. Service is great also!
- Time Out ChicagoAugust 2, 2014The captain of this hipster-Japanese ship is Sushi Wabi alum Yut Vong, whose strength doesn’t lie in cream cheese and spicy mayo. Read more
- Jyoti GillJanuary 24, 2017pretty underwhelming. the sauce designs are pretty gimmicky. mango avocado salad was great though
- William QuiñonesFebruary 1, 2016Great place for really good sushi, good conversation and good company.
- Autumn ChoiMarch 27, 2018Fresh seaweed salad but sushi is overrated. Anything drenched in sauce (all their rolls) will taste good and their nigiri/sashimi is nothing special
- Perfect for a date or solo. Cool interior and friendly staff. And cheap! All wins!
- Best sushi place EVER!!! Curry puffs are also good! Motown! Fried sushi ;)
- ben mMay 2, 2015It's not often you find a fun BYO with great sushi and get to listen to T.R.O.Y. at the same time. The food from the grill was good too. Definitely will be back.
- Nina FelicianoJuly 8, 2011BYOB, friendly staff, amazing and cheap food. The green harbor roll is a fave.
- You gotta try the Green Harbor roll. There's nothing else like it!

- Chicago magazineApril 10, 2012Everyone–including the fedora-clad chefs–seems gleeful at this chummy BYO. Maybe the thumping hip-hop anthems have something to do with this.
