The beignets are larger, fresher and imho tastier than Cafe DuMonde. The garden is much more inviting than being crowded under the tarp at CDM
they try hard to master that hipster insouciance & ironic pop culture vibe, which feels out of place in new orleans, but their sandwiches are damn damn good. FWIW, one sandwich is plenty for 2 people.

Eating here was near the top of my bucket list and it did not disappoint. Splurge and get the chef's table. The restaurant itself is almost as beautiful as the food. Easily the best meal of my life.

Dive bars are just a must, part of New Orleans in so many ways. This one, steps from Tulane, is perfectly tacky and unfussy. Sip an Abita beer, then walk through Tulane down to St. Charles Avenue.
The Newcomb Art Gallery is part of the Woldenberg Art Center and has one of the best exhibitions in Southern Louisiana.
