People tend to check in during these times:
Irving Plaza was converted into a rock music venue in 1978 and has since hosted U2, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton & more establishing itself as NYC’s premier venue.
If you can get here when doors open try to get to the balcony. Great view and you'll be sure to not lose any clothes when a mosh pit opens up next to you on the main floor.
A nice, intimate club venue located right by Union Square. Plays host to some big names from time to time, and has managed to hold up after all its years in business. Sound, atmosphere, all great.
Two floor set up, except that for bigger shows they reserve upstairs for VIP (worth the extra money). Bars on every floor and there are great bars/restos for before and after the show close by!
Small to midsize venue. Legendary place to see a band. 3 levels. great balcony. Full bar in back with fast service. From The Ramones to U2 to Clapton & Dylan. all the heavy hitters have played here
Buy tickets directly from box office to save on booking fees. Mixed drinks can get pricey so drink beforehand. Stage is visible from most parts of the arena but it does get warm near stage.
It's small in there, so be prepared to either get the nut or the butt. They have a nice top seating that has tables and the view is great. Also a couple (2) lounges in the back for sitting.
A fantastic venue. Drop-down screen in front of stage shows upcoming shows and events. The sound is hit or miss, there are no bathrooms upstairs (stage-level), but they have two bars.
Like most venues in NYC, bar with a wide hall and space enough to fit 6 musicians. The bad thing about this place stage is upstairs restrooms are downstairs, forget going while the band's playing
I love the intimate setting of this venue. I've been to many concerts here. There's never a bad viewing spot...unless you get a super tall person in front of you (haha)
Great venue. Have been going here for ever and never had an issue getting close. Sound is also pretty great compared to other nyc venues.
This venue was once a Polish-American community center and a swing ballroom (although sadly not at the same time). In 2000 it hosted a combo of Tenacious D and At the Drive-In for CMJ Music Marathon.
Dope venue for concerts! The bars located everywhere are clutch and I def had the time of my life with my group of chums!
Royally messed up the Foo Fighters show. Said not to line up until 3, tickets on sale at 5. Gave out wristbands to people there early and were sold out by 2:30. You will never see me here. Place sux.
One of our favorite venues for general admission concerts. But direct at their box office and avoid paying ticket broker fees!
Very helpful staff that helped us bring packages of 700+ LPs up two flights of stairs and an elevator. Great sounding room and friendly bar staff.
I've filmed 3 concerts here: Jonas Brothers, Honor Society, and Timbaland - very intimate and small venue to get an up close look at your favorite music artists!
Nice small venue but drink before you get here if you're looking to get a buzz. $10 well drinks is the epitome of overpriced Manhattan cocktails.
Head to Galaxy Global Eatery on Irving place between 15th and 16th to grab a bite before (or after) the show. The food is diverse and delicious and it's affordable! – Team Live Nation
Amazing venue. Smoke in the air, beer on the floor, and talent on the stage from opener to headline. Awesome night.
The side risers and upper level were VIP last time I was here. You had to pay to upgrade to stand with an obstructed view. What the heck??
coat check people were very snarky :( ...$4 **PER ITEM**. item = coat, sweater, scarf, ANYTHING. obviously. of course i would assume it's $4 extra to check your scarf with your coat.
Head stage right or left to nab a spot with the best view, or try your luck upstairs (if you can get up there, that is...).
Concerts get crunched. VIP tickets are worth the extra $$ because they come with a free drink and view is muuuuuch better. More room to bust move. 💃
Not as awesome as the Bowery Ballroom, but another one of NYC's intimate concert venues. The acoustics are top notch.
Coat check lost my jacket. On top of that, they were rude to me and didn't give me a refund for checking it in. Never coming back here after that treatment.
This place fucking sucks. Hot, smelly, horrible speaker quality. Disgusting. Don't even drink it's too difficult to get to a bathroom. Could be way nicer.
This place SUCKS. They never get their shows started on time and whether its coat check or drinks you feel like you're being robbed. There are way better venues in NYC, never again!!
Worst sound technician ever. Or maybe just at my show. Turn the mics on, asshole. Unless the goal is to make every track an instrumental. If that's the case, kudos.
Arrive early to get a good spot. If you're hungry they've got a few options for food that's reasonably priced.
Super small so you are always close to the artist but it can get packed and very crowded quickly.
Probably my favorite venue in the city. All the greats have played here. Come early because it'll get packed.
decent venue, good acoustics. security doesn't do a good job though. perfect for small intimate GA shows.
Staff here is super friendly, which is extra awesome if they can get you a nice spot on the rail to watch the show.
Make sure you get a good spot in the middle of the floor, the sight lines aren't great towards the outside.
Coat check is $3 PER item and cash only. You can't take a backpack to the show floor.
Drinks are a little pricy, especially since they could be made a little better. Definitely fast though.
Drinks are $$ but the Angry Orchard is worth it. Opt for VIP/balcony space to avoid crowds!
Proud to have played here! Gorgeous venue, spacious historical and great sound/lighting!
Very eclectic venue. Sucks that it's a LiveNation venue, though. Came here for LIGHTS and Kina Grannis.
Saw Common tonight. Great intimate venue. The crowd was great. Common did his thing. #HipHop
Go online to get discount coupons for parking at nearby Icon parking lots.
Hey if your here tonight for Boys like Girls show come see me @ the merch table for Runner Runner and tell me the little lamb is hungry for a free gift
Been here for a We Are Scientists Concert. Very intimate, security isn't so pushy. Good venue.
Weird set-up, overpriced drinks, always too crowded...definitely not one of my top choices to see a show
Ask for the mezz tickets you save $2 but the tickets still say floor.
