Must visit! First Sunday of each month is free. Ticket includes Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Book your reservation before hand to skip lines. Free entry also costs EUR 2 online. Level 2 is must.
What else can be said, it's the colloseum! Amazing. However, very crowded. Buy tickets in advance and go early in the morning. Download the free Rick Steve's audio tour and listen as you walk through.
The private tour costs 9€ and is totally worth it! Our guide was this very nice and professional archaeologist. You get to ask questions and access places that are forbidden to other visitors. Lovely!
Historical, glorious and imperial! Definitely worth a visit if you're in Rome.Buy the ticket online to skip the long line of ticket and no need to pay a lot extra to tour leaders, there are audio/video
Get Roma pass to avoid the crowd. Place needs around an hour to check. Go to the second floor. Views r awesome. You will need to be dressed comfortably. Better visit in the afternoon to avoid the heat
It’s amazing and beautiful. You can buy the tickets in advance with some agencies the which it helps a lot with the long lines, ask if they have entrance for the arena it’s totally worth it.
No introduction needed, just make sure you buy your tickets online beforehand to avoid the queue. Really reccommend to choose the visit that allows you to go to the 3rd level and the underground floor
Awesome, just awesome, must see also from inside. Take a guided tour it's worth it. Many people offer the tours outside for approximately 30 euros per person.
A must do in Rome! Make sure you book the tickets with the fast-track option. Download Rick Steves free audio guide beforehand or get a tour which takes you to places where normal tickets don’t.
If you’re in Rome, you need to see the colosseum. Although book ahead of time so you can avoid long lines. I suggest Get your guide. Very good value, you see more then the colosseum. It’s a all in 1
The sheer size of the site is astonishing. A walking tour can give more details on the history and usage of the building, though I advice you to read the wikipedia article beforehand.
Great site to learn about the history of Rome. The audio guide is totally worth it and also you can buy a ticket to see the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.
Absolute must see. Add it to your bucket list. If you go in the individual/single ticket line you'll wait over an hour. If you go in with a tour group you get right in. No wait.
We took a tour via CityWonders (through Viator), and it was one of the best decisions we made during our week in Rome. We skipped the lines & gained access to areas below & above that most don't see.
I suggest early morning tours before 10am and bring your selfie stick because your going to take allot of pictures. I used the citytour which bypassed the long lineswell worth it.
If you want to have a unique view from the underground and the third level, you can acquire the guided tour for an additional fee. You will learn a lot and will enjoy it. Worth it.
My life-long dream of seing the arena, finally accomplished! Took the audio tour because I had no time or $ to buy a group tour but it was good enough. Will be back when it is not under restoration!
It is one of the most visited touristattractions in Roma. Book you ticket in advance and they do have a free tickets on the first Sunday from each month.
Photos show how beautiful it is but seeing it with your own eyes is another story! We entered via Imperial Forum and were the only ones, no waiting, no excessive security queue, excellent! :)
Of course you have to visit this legendary structure. Don't be too disappointed in it's ruins, it's still a wonderous feat. Also, if you want the third level/underground tour, BOOK MONTHS IN ADVANCE!!
A must see on any tour of Rome. If you can, get a skip the line or a behind the scenes tour, you get a special experience and miss a lot of the other tourists.
Very beautiful structure. It is a must see in rome. Keep in mind not to fill water bottles with alcohol. They make you dump your water before entering the structure.
Get an audio guide, or read up on your Roman history. You could easily spend hours here. DO NOT fall for the sales pitches of “volunteers” outside. Get your ticket online and come back if you need to.
You have to do a guided tour. There is just so much to this place. We did the 3hr Dark Rome tour with the Palatine hill and it was great. Could definitely have spent lots more time though!
About 2hrs should be enough unless you want to sit and take in the atmosphere. The newly opened top floors will offer an amazing view although cost extra
If you're taking the tourbus, make sure to be sitting on the upper deck and get your cameras ready as the bus approaches the Colosseum. Simply breathtaking!
The Colosseum or Coliseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of Rome, Italy. Built of concrete and stone. It is the largest amphitheatre in the world Read more
Obviously a must visit when in Rome , The Colosseum is one of the seven wonder of the world don’t bother going inside it’s more beautiful from the outside
Absolutely a must see! The sheer size of it is amazing. Book online to skip the queue & then skip that queue by heading to Palatine Hill & the forum first, the ticket queue there is a lot shorter!
As a must in Rome! And buy tickets online: http://www.coopculture.it/en/colosseo-e-shop.cfm (combined ticket colosseum roman forum and palatine, valid for 2 days); not allowed to take any liquids in!
Day or night - it's noble grace worth seeing when you are in Rome.Once in the lifetime - visit inside. Take your time and visit all floors.Stage platform and third floor access is only with a guide.
*very important tip* be sure to buy your ticket online in advance and print it! but even then you might wait a long line. Colosseum is just amazing its a must,i recommend you visit foro before 🏟
Just a pile of bricks really. Don’t pay to go inside it was rather short and boring. Come at night for a free walk around the perimeter and read a short guide online. It’s all you need to know.
Go to take your tickets as normal way Don’t listen to tour guide out side they take 35 € !! And when you go there it’s only by 12 € and the audio by 5,5 € ( has all languages including Arabic ).
Audio guide is a bit basic. Great to see and imagine the history. Go early and beat the crowds and heat. Roma pass sometimes has a queue but it speeds up after the metal detectors.
It appears even more magical + breathtaking in person! A must, must, must visit for visitors to Rome. Be cautious of your surroundings though and try as best to stay together. The highlight of my trip
Everytime Im in Rome I have to go to the colosseum. It's big and beautiful and lot of history. After you have been here you should go over to the forum and get the full roman experience. Book tickets.
Must see, of course. Don’t be fooled by the excursion sellers, there is a ticket office (official) just 2 blocks from the colosseum. Bathrooms available and clean on the back (outside) for .50€.
The Roman Empire comes alive at the Colosseum! Cruise with your imagination through historic times when fight-games were organized, as depicted by Russel Crowe in "The Gladiator".
Pay the extra 5 euro's for the tour, its worth it! Also, try and book (way) in advance to get the third ring and underground tour to see areas not normally available for tourists
A longer, interesting, 1.5-hour guided tour takes you through areas that are otherwise off-limits, including the top floor and underground passageways. Advance web reservation is needed.
An absolute marvel! Over a million people's lives ended, and countless animals slaughtered, all to entertain the Romans. Their engineering was so incredibly advanced it is just mind-boggling.
This is one of the places "must to see"! You can buy a combined ticket which is 12€ (2017) or reduced price 7.50€ for students and older people. I like it 👍🏽
It may be two thousand years old but the Colosseum is still the symbol of the eternal city, every year drawing thousands of visitors, meaning long queues and an endless wait. Place Managed by the Rome's Tourism Dept. in collaboration with //Avanti Concept Agency
