If you get thrown out of Coles during summer (this is real) you can use the staircase at bobst as a substitute for the stair master. Super effective and air con is better than in the gym. #work
AshleyApril 17, 2011Get here early! The higher up you go, the quieter it gets. Best to bring your snacks in, quick and cheap! If you start to loose focus, take a walk or move to a new floor!

We recommend trying one of the other lesser known printing facilities elsewhere on campus!
The new golden atrium screens are perfect for peeking your nose through one of the gaps and pretending you're Hannibal Lecter, carefully watching all those below.
Ask the people at the Computer Center on LL1 to install the NYU Printing Service software on your laptop. No more waiting for a free computer to print!
The corridor with lockers and couches is pretty awesome. Great place to work and nap if needed. It empties out quickly when it's late.

If your going to sit on the quiet side remember that everyone can still hear you if you talk on the phone by the bathroom....-_- always go to the balcony
Wonderful library, even if a lot of the books are housed off campus. And you can take out up to 200 books!
best place ever. you should borrow the macbooks and use the microwave/hand dryers in LLI, check out the amazing fales collection on the 3rd floor, socialize in 5th South and sleep in 8th North
Don't read tips by students since we're all trying to keep our special library hideouts a secret. Trust nobody.
Liv JovineApril 18, 20125th floor has a state of the art computer lab equipped with GIS and other specialized research software- check it out! Also, awesome free scanner in the same lab.
The graduate student exchange will sometimes contain a few inconsiderate humans who talk at the top of their voice despite the din of an otherwise quiet room. Noise canceling headphones necessary.
LL2- single rooms for study are NOT sound proof so don't be a jerk off and start having a phone conversation or group powwow in there!!- There R bathrooms on almost every floor; fl 3-10 in the NW and NE corners, LL1 and LL2 on the north side of the bldg. Great study views from north side floors 4, 6, 8, and 10. SUPER helpful librarians

You can hear the jazz music from Washington sq park in the East Asian Studies library!
Best place if you're new to getting work done and you don't want the intensity of LL2. AND it's open 24/7 :)- HashtagNYUOctober 19, 2012Make a right when you get down the stairs and try combining two of the comfy lounge chairs for a makeshift bed.
- The Graduate Student Exchange on the 10th floor is an awesome place to escape those pesky undergrads and hang with the over-21 study crowd. Love the whiteboards, too!

Don't look outside the glass or the new anti-suicide nets will make you depressed, if the nauseating floor pattern didn't do that already. Try LL1 for a relatively more cheerful ambiance.
Next to the women's bathroom there's a door - it's the single bathroom. Great if you like privacy and paper and paper towels.
New renovations look great, go to the top floor and look down. A marvelous sight.
North reading room has high ceilings and a great view of the park.

Lower Levels are where it's at. They have private study rooms so you can lock yourself in to write essays the night before their due.
The door's not that tricky, guys. Put your hand where the sign that says "place hand here" is, listen for the click, then exit. You're in grad school; it shouldn't be that hard.
Come between 8-9am and you won't have try every floor ib frustration to find a place to study. Please finish the constructions SOON.
Two visitor passes per month available with photo ID. Just in case when you lose your campus ID
If you want to talk, even whisper to your neighbor step the fuck outside to the hall was because it's incredibly rude and distracting. The place becomes actually nice cozy once vacation starts. Not too loud, not at all crowded.......
When you borrow a book from reserves remember to get your call number before you get there!!!!
8th floor reading room. Go. So quiet I can hear my heart beat. Forces one to concentrate.

4th, 5th, and 6th floors are my favorite. (They were renovated recently.)

so although i no longer have access, this has been my favorite place to be productive. i hope to get into an NYU phd program so I can live in this place again.
They literally constructed a giant cage around the inside of the building to prevent people from killing themselves. Just let that sink in for a moment.
the gray leather couches on LL1 provide the ultimate napping spot. more than half the kids there are usually curled up and asleep
