Winner of Best Bike Ride in the Village Voice 2011 Best Of issue! The best time to ride is after 8 PM, when the park is a little less crowded.
If you want to go for a peaceful run or bike ride, avoid during the weekends - the loop gets packed with tourists and other runners and bikers. Great workout though!

This spot in the park - beautiful and cozy in all seasons. In winter, it's close to the skating rink, summer/spring/fall - easy access to volleyball/baseball courts. We like to just lay and read here!

Great place to lounge on the grass, soak up some sun, and people watch! Nice view of the Belvedere Castle, too. Just watch out for any incoming baseballs, footballs, and frisbees.

This is the best entrance and exit to the Big Loop in Central Park if you're coming from downtown via bike. Watch out for cabs coming in if you exit after 7:30am.

Gorgeous and peaceful wild nature oasis in the middle of one of the world’s busiest cities. Personally, the best part of Central Park at any time of the year.
If you run, walk, or cycle the park, hang a turn into the north woods and suddenly you escape the city into a quiet fairly land...great way to let your mind blend with nature and expand your senses.
The North Woods is one of the top bird-watching locations in the United States.

Designed by Emma Stebbins and dedicated in 1873, this fountain was the only sculpture commissioned as part of Central Park’s original design. Its official name is “Angel of the Waters.”
It's a statue depicting the characters in the book Alice in Wonderland. It's a little off the main paths, but well worth the walk, or take a bike there, it's beautiful. Read more.
Created in 1959 by Jose de Creeft (1884-1982), this bronze sculpture features characters from the 1865 Lewis Carroll story‚ "Alice in Wonderland."
The plaque reads “In Memory of My Wife, Margarita Delacorte, Who Loved All Children.” Not only must all children love Alice but when they go to the Park they must love Mrs. Delacorte, too. Read more.

Love this music venue - big enough to attract amazing bands and small enough to feel intimate. Great food and wine vendors too (though if you go often you will notice there's not much variety)
It's the kind of entrance to Central Park unlike any other. People come here to get away from high fashion and haute cuisine. Shady trees and grassy meadows edged by rock give solace in the city.

This formal space is a wonderful spot for a stroll but also to watch rollerbladers and the best approach to the Lake.
Take a picture here and set it as your wallpaper. Especially effective in the fall and winter.
The classic movie/TV scene area ~ take a picture of the mall during fall and the changing of the leaves. Its truly spectacular!
