Make sure to come with plenty of time, it takes very long to reach your terminal with this traffic
TSA Security is really means to work here, even shoes, belt, jacket have to remove and place into a tray- Raymond MonacoMarch 10, 2013Make sure to get to your gate before time. There is always mix ups, cancelations and flight changes.
Decide to get here early for your flight, and then add about an hour to that and you're in business.
So big, but yet, lines are never too long for TSA. Lots of options to eat and shop

If you need to charge a device go down to the Alaska Air area (@ gates 64 & 65)... They have tables & chairs with numerous outlets

As a crew, I been to many airports. But you don't need to be an airline crew to figure out LAX sucks. Still, I love LAX because.. it's home.
Whatever you do, do NOT bump the Tiffany Bowl at the reception desk!!! Lol!!!
Give your self an additional hour to the standard time time before your departure. If you're taking a shuttle from rental. Give your self an additional 1.5 hours before departure.
If you are flying main cabin select & above on virgin America you automatically get priority access thru security - saves a lot of time

Come with plenty of time plenty of traffic jams in the airport. If you don't mind paying for parking your better off parking to avoid the traffic jams.

When you exit the terminal, be sure to inhale thy fresh air. A thousand cigarette smokers all congregated around the exits ... good times!

Enjoy the American Airlines Admirals Club, it's at Terminal 4 Departure Concourse across from gate 40!
Don't buy any drinks if you are transferring terminals for a connecting flight, they're not connected and you'll have to go through TSA again at your final terminal
If on Alaska, head to the Boardroom upstairs. $40 gets you a private lounge, wifi, drinks, snacks, and restrooms. Well worth the cash!
Bring snacks from home and arrive at least an 1.5 before your plane departs ;)

Be happy and enjoy the flight. There are a bajillion other worse things you could be doing. Like digging ditches, being incarcerated or sitting in a boring meeting.
There is a tunnel that connects Terminal 6 to Terminal 5 that you can take and not have to exit security and be rescreened at one or the other.

One of the ugliest/hard to navigate airports I've every been through. Make sure you know your gate...no shuttle between terminals....:-(
When flying out from lax, always arrive two hours before departure. The lines at lax can be extremely unpleasant.

I always take a Benadryl a half hour before I fly so I can sleep/nap through long flights... It also makes me not care as much about turbulence.
