If your flight departs sometime during the morning hours, make sure to get there VERY early. The TSA line is typically extremely busy.
Instead of having friends fight thru the arriving flights traffic for a pick up, have your flyer go upstairs to departing flights level. Get them there.

K. GilDecember 17, 2014Got here at 6:30 am and the lines at United were long. Very busy but it took less than 15 minutes to go through. TSA lines were very short and took 5 minutes to go through.
Opt out of the body scanners! Instead of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on this invasive harmful scanner, let's replace them with dogs! More intimidating, cheaper and more effective

Guh. This place is huge. Allow more time than at other airports for transfers.
Terminal 6 offers very little vegetarian food after breakfast. Ruby's or @TheCoffeeBean are best bets
Buy water from the vending machines. They are $2.00 less than at the News Stands or snack bars. $1.50 vs $3.49.
Despite recent events, the check-in and security process was smooth and timely.

Always bring lots of tequila shot mini bottles with you or you might lose your temper with the 18,000 egos working here.
expect to take the full 2 hrs. busiest and messiest airport but you learn to love it.
Wear heAdphones. The music in the airport will make you want to slit your wrists. Possibly most depressing soundtrack in the world.
Virgin Air is definitely the best domestic airline, hands down. Definitely the W of the skies.

If flying Virgin America or Jet Blue, be sure to eat beforehand. Eatery options are limited. And don't expect to find an outlet to charge your items. Plan ahead.
Best flight ever! Make sure you look outside for the Hollywood sign! ;)
Hopefully you've arrived early. If so, park yourself at the airport bar for lots of pre-flight drinking. That's where you'll find me!
If you hate yourself arrive really early at LAX so that you can experience extra time in hell that just can't be enjoyed anywhere else on earth.

Smiling at the other passengers and at airport usually helps to set a positive tone for your experience at LAX. Try it!
Driving here can be hectic but it's a pretty easy going airport overall.

To avoid standing in a huge baggage drop line just go to special service line and say you were unable to check in using self-service machine. Profit! (Works for Delta)

airport is great, wish it had a smoking section, no complaints though, probably should stop smoking...
