Vegetable soup makes for a deceptively hearty lunch. Also comes with amazing challah.
Charismatic interior with cushy-looking sofa chairs for diners. Locals beware- on busy nights, guests have priority and you'll be kindly steered towards the bar area.

Skip a la carte and go for the tasting menu: a New York bargain at 5-courses for $55. The tiny restaurant seats diners at a counter around an open kitchen -- dinner and a show.
Put the menu away and just get the $50 tasting menu. Get the wine pairing too. Make sure you finish w the carmelized torija & a glass of the Jorge Ordinez
The brûléed French toast with smoked maple syrup is sooooo amazing. I would come back just for it.

You can't go wrong with the sample platter, but go for the meat & potato dumplings too. Maybe order an extra side of kielbasa.

Had a great dinner at L'Apicio. Appetizers of burrata, grilled octopus and peeky toe crab were excellent and enough to be shared by 5 diners. Dinner entrees of ciopino, pastas were ridiculously good.
Oxtail Polenta and Agnolotti pasta are amazing! Highly recommend.
The pastas are definitely the focal point of Thompson's newest & trendiest spot. The gnocchi, agnolotti w/ sweetbreads & seafood linguini are outstanding. Pay with Cover at skip waiting for the check!
Reasonably priced brunch, upscale diner style. Come on a weekday if you can when there's plenty of room. Otherwise expect to wait on a weekend.

Incredibly cozy Italian fare, one should definitely make a reservation in the back garden that is open year round. Try the gnocchi with porcini mushrooms, its decadent.
Whether brunch or dinner, get a seat on the back patio. Have a fairly priced bottle of wine (or 2) & enjoy some good food (gnocchi & burrata are favorites). Oh, and it's no longer just cash or Amex!
You can't beat the decor here, they put in the extra effort to make your experience just right here. Good stuff! Go when the back patio is open!
