This place is one of the old gems of new york. Get a beer and Fried Oyster po-boy for lunch off the bar menu.
NYT Hungry City (4/2018): "Takana (pickled mustard greens); kombu; umeboshi; salmon; shrimp tempura; fried oyster; chashu pork; mentaiko (pollock roe); the Bomb; karaage."
Excellent selection of lunch entrees as well as light fares, if not too hungry. Appetizers especially the fried oysters is a must. Very attentive wait staff too.
The restaurant's yellow fin tuna confit sandwich, topped with fried artichokes and served on fresh focaccia, is a favorite. Read more.
