Daniel Grayson: This is exactly what a soba restaurant is. The grind the buckwheat and hand make the noodles here, the tempura is PERFECT, and the vibe is exactly what you'd expect from mixing Oakland and Japan.
Sydney M: Literally the best place in Oakland. Soba with tempura, tamago, soba pate, ice cream, everything was amazing
cami j.: absolutely delicious soba, and the best tempura i have ever had. super cute space, too.
Jessica Bridges (Salazar): Tempura mushrooms & chicken teriyaki dish, drizzle the ranch over the chicken and rice too, heaven. Fat, chunky heaven.
Winni L.: The place to go for mushroom Tempura!
heathr gold: Perfect location for post-motorcycle ride in the hills. Niman Ranh meat. Sweet potato fries and chocolate malt super excellent accompaniments. Whole wheat bun is key. Bacon. Avocado.

Ira Serkes: The tempura and sushi are superb!
Nathan Francis: Probably the best sushi in Oakland. The fish is well sourced, from Japan and elsewhere. Go omakase, or stick to nigiri and sashimi, and you won't be disappointed.
Asher Yanich: The spicy tuna roll I ordered was excellent and the quality of the other fish was very good. Low key and simple but great sushi.

Pertz: Call in and place your order for pick-up if you're in a rush! Best sushi you can get for a decent price. Tempura udon, spicy chicken, and katsu curry are good as well.
DEREK RAYROSE: The monk fish liver melts in your mouth; better than a fine pate. The salmon belly is so juicy, and tender. But, the conch was my favorite; super fresh; reminding of a sunny beach on the Carribean.
Richard Chen: Look on the daily specials board and order up like mad. Many items not found at your average US sushi places.

San Jose Mercury News: Try the non-pizza options. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken ($18) - served with a fluffy cauliflower puree and escarole - is moist, tender and crispy. Read more.
Ludi Chow: Cheese curds, goddess salad, three-cheese pizza with pancetta: all delicious! (They are pretty liberal with salt though.)
Joe 🐘 Lencioni: Bring your dog and enjoy the patio.
